 I look at our bench, and I'd love to get [Coste] some playing time. I think he can hit off the bench because, even in the minor leagues, he did that.

 We just worked the ball inside and made some good shots. With the majority of playing time on the bench, the bench came in and did well.

 With all the guys on the bench, we feel comfortable having them in the game. There's always someone on the bench who should be playing. That's a nice problem to have.

 We don't look for our bench to come in there and carry us. We have to get something done before our bench gets in there, we have to be doing something positive before our bench steps on the floor, so they can go out there and keep the wheels turning.

 A strong bench and a veteran bench is what Jerry wanted. You don't want your prospects coming off the bench.

 We added depth to our bench and that's something we didn't have last year. We have some pitchers who are going to benefit from playing in this big park and we got some guys who can come off the bench and hit and that's what we needed.

 It's not tough to keep him down when you have players performing up here. We recognize he is very close to being probably an every day player in the big leagues soon. But we want to keep him playing, because you don't want to retard his progress by sitting him on the bench.

 I think their bench is probably a little more productive at this point in time than ours has been. We've been very inconsistent there. That's where we have to be better in terms of matching their depth in being able to put up numbers off the bench.

 Toni has been the catalyst off the bench. He somehow finds Dan every time we're out there. The bench really benefited from him.

 When we were letting the starters sit on the bench, to see what was going on on the floor ... that's just how the other part of the team feels when they're on the bench, wanting to get in. And after they saw all of that, they came alive to realize that they (would) rather be on the floor than on the bench.

 He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness. More so when I was playing defense in the minors, I'd make a pass up the ice and go off and change. I'd be sitting on the bench and they'd get the goal. They'd review it and you'd hear you got an assist and you were sitting on the bench. It can happen.

 It really makes no difference to me whether I start or come off the bench. Jason is comfortable starting and he's playing well at the position. Sometimes it helps to sit there and get a feel for the game from the bench and then go in and try to make a difference.
