Big guys do strike gezegde

 Big guys do strike out a lot, but I think that's an area that Ryan will improve on once he gets more experience in the major leagues.

 Of course I'm disappointed, but I need to go down there with the experience from the Major Leagues. I'm going to get to work on getting to the big leagues.

 Absolutely. This guy's won. He's won in the minor leagues. He's won in the major leagues. He's won with young guys. He's won with veterans.

 The product (in Japan) will be lessened. The local demand will remain, but the teams are just realizing now their monopoly is crumbling because of the major leagues. The major leagues have put a major dent on fans' appetite for Japanese baseball.

 It's more about the experience than anything. All these guys, their dream is to play in the major leagues. For Randall Simon and some of the other guys over there, they've reached that dream. It's a privilege to play them.

 Defensively, he's ready to play in the big leagues. We don't have a concern about him defensively. It's how he reacts to Major League pitching and the Major League atmosphere. Reggie Abercrombie, as well, is a very talented young player. He has speed and can do things. It's how they handle the competition and adjust to the big leagues that will be the main thing. This is a great opportunity for some of these guys.

 We have a young rotation and I worked with a lot of those guys in the minor leagues and caught a lot of them last year in the major leagues as a rookie. I feel like I have a pretty good relationship with all the pitchers.

 We're just going to see how the guys react, and how they're playing. I don't think we can speculate right now if this guy is going to be in a platoon situation. We're going to just have to figure it out as we go along, because a lot of these players just don't have the Major League experience and they just don't have the track record of how they perform, left vs. left or right vs. right. You just don't have that right now in the big leagues.

 We've acquired some players because it was an area we felt like we needed to improve and whether or not it's finished there, it's probably too early to say. Some of these guys we've been able to sign we're getting a good look at now and some have more experience than others.

 Most people don't know these guys came out of the Negro Leagues, and those are some of the household names in Major League Baseball. That's just a sampling of the kind of talent that was present in the Negro Leagues.

 This was an awesome experience, something you don't experience in the major leagues.

 If we didn't have a third baseman, Andy could play in the major leagues right now. Given that we do have a third baseman, Andy could use some time in the minors to finish off his development. Defensively, he's major-league ready right now. Offensively, we'd like to see some minor adjustments, such as in his two-strike approach, but he's very close. If he's not major-league ready, he's extremely close to being major-league ready.

 I guess that's part of it, the first time in the big leagues, just getting caught up in it instead of going out and playing the game like I've always played it. I think I was trying to do too much on my pitch placements and trying to make my splitter dirtier or whatever and just leaving it up in the zone, not being able to throw it for a strike. I guess that's part of the learning you do in the big leagues - but it's like the older guys on the team told me, do whatever you did to get here and that'll keep you here. The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection.

 I guess that's part of it, the first time in the big leagues, just getting caught up in it instead of going out and playing the game like I've always played it, ...  For a guy like myself, I know there's plenty of room for me to improve and there are a lot of things to work on. But I think I showed I do belong in the Major Leagues.
