[Pitching coach Rich] Dubee gezegde

[Pitching coach Rich] Dubee and I will talk ... whoever we think matches up good against that team.

I just talked to Rob and he said it bothered him a little bit in the start in San Francisco and then in his last start in New York. At that point he talked to (pitching coach Rich Dubee) about it. (Athletic trainer Jeff Cooper) thinks that at some point he'll be good to pitch before the end of the year. But he won't be ready for Sunday. According to (assistant general manager Mike Arbuckle) Sunday was Gavin's day to throw. He'll join the club (Saturday) and pitch on Sunday.

I just assumed you talk about your own team. You don't talk about our team. He has no business talking about our team. He's not our coach. We'll let our coach talk about our team. We'll let our players talk about our team. The only thing we ever do is give respect to the other teams because that's what they deserve.

We are playing better in all areas, offense, defense and I like our pitching too. Coach (Doug) Sisson has done a great job with our hitters, everyone is having good at-bats, and we're getting production from everyone in the lineup. Coach (Roger) Williams has done a fine job with our pitching staff. Demoprogrammering lockas av Commodore 64:s potential. Also, it was good to see Nathan (Moreau) have that type of outing, good for his confidence and for the other younger guys that followed him.

I always say you're a good coach when you have good players, ... We have a pretty good pitching staff, it's easy to go coach that one. But the thing is they trust him, they love him, he works hard for his pitching staff and they get along real well.

A pitching coach needs to be a good pin cushion. He's somebody that will talk to you during the game and listen to you and (you can) throw stuff off of him.

Yes. And that's why I don't want to hurry it. We have kind of an idea about what we're going to do. I have to talk to [general manager] Kenny [Williams] about this, I have to talk to [pitching coach Don] Cooper about this, but we have to do it.

Any team in the market for a pitching coach would definitely benefit from taking a look at him. I think part of it is that he and Mike complement each other so well. In some ways they have a little different approach in the way they approach and talk to you.

The only thing I know is he's supposed to coach his team. He don't need to be on the sideline running his mouth, trying to talk trash from the bench. He's not a player no more, he's a coach. His job is to coach his team, not to have little slick stuff to say from the bench.

You talk to an assistant coach -- not somebody in the position who has to sell the kid. Talk to a strength coach. Talk to those guys who have worked with him. Talk to a trainer. They usually have a great feel of what a guy's about.

I do envision championship basketball and when you talk about championship basketball, you talk about a good defensive team, you talk about a good offensive team and you talk about a team that really has its act together once they step on the floor. Our goal is to dominate the east and we must continue to dominate the east so that we can have another return to the NBA Finals. And I think mentally we have to become a tougher basketball team. I think mental toughness is going to be the thing that makes us champions.

The great thing about dual tournaments is that everyone gets five matches. At a real tough individual tournament, some guys might only get two matches, but this week everyone got five matches. It's good for conditioning and it's also great for team camaraderie.

Whoever is feeding him, I'm going to talk to Wendy (Sanders' wife) and make sure it's the same breakfast and lunch that he's been having. Because what a lift he's given us, four games straight games now. He's been so clutch against good pitching, really good pitching.

[However, the coach expects to see an improvement from Cassano's team-mate Francesco Totti.] He is going through a good time, ... Finally, he is maturing alongside the team. But I don't want anyone to talk about leaders in this team, Totti is an important player.

Seriously, I'd like to know -- has any team gone through something like this? I don't think so. If they have, I'd love to talk to their coach to see how they handled it. I think we've done a pretty good job.
