 I have yet to see any tests predict the success or failure of any teacher in the classroom, ... Passing the bar exam doesn't mean that you are going to be a great lawyer. Obviously, passing the bar exam doesn't mean you are going to be a good politician either.

 I think the best analogy is the pair of law school students where one sits for the Bar exam and the other doesn't. Who are you going to choose for your lawyer?

 Being able to use the Michigan Merit Exam for more than one purpose is a plus, ... It will be used as a students' college entrance exam as well as for the state exam. We will also be able to use it to meet Adequate Yearly Progress standards.

 Anything we do is contingent on a player passing a medical exam.

 If they have similar course requirements, they have a similar certification exam and they're certified, why make them go through the standards that may be one or two courses different just for Florida where it doesn't really make the difference between a quality teacher and a teacher that's less qualified,

 It feels good to know you passed at least a portion of the exam. The English exam has been tough for me.

 There is no alternative (to the exit exam) that exists today. The exit exam is, in fact, a good measurement for students to comprehend our standards.

 So far, 92 percent of our seniors have passed this exit exam. But for many challenged students, the self-worth and self-esteem they experience from seeing their progress jump 20 or even 40 points between one exam and another ... this is a huge part of the outcome, no matter what the numbers say.

 Even if everyone doesn't pass the exam, they have had a better learning experience and have been better trained for college.

 Students may take as many as six or seven exams during their high school experience. At $82 per exam, these costs run into hundreds of dollars, so every little bit helps. The tutors also get the benefit of seeing their advanced skills put to good use right there in the classroom.

 This is going to be a whole different test for us. I mentioned to the kids last Sunday that we've had three tough quizzes coming out of the gate. UC Davis, Towson on the road, Dartmouth here, all good tests for us. But this is the first major exam.

 If learners had started their preparation in time, there is still enough time for the exam. All we ask them (the pupils) to do is calm down and use the little time left to prepare for the exam. We call on our stakeholders - the parents and unions - to support these learners.
