 He's very skilled. Very skilled. He's got a good opportunity. The only thing that I was ever frustrated with was when he was on the floor and he just looked like he didn't care.  We had a pretty good mixture of type of players. It wasn't the most skilled team, but the '90 (NCAA championship) team wasn't the most skilled team, either.

 At first, the mindset of some of the guys was not to play in the NIT. The way they looked at it was, 'Oh, it's just the NIT.' But that was no big deal to me. I just looked at is as another opportunity to play basketball and it's been real valuable for me.

 We're getting too cute, too fancy (with passes). That's what happens when you got new guys coming into the lineup that are skilled players playing with guys who are skilled players. Everybody wants to show off and show how great they are and how fancy they can make things happen. As a result, we turned the puck over and we all looked like we had no idea what we were doing.

 It was hard! Oh, my God. I was trying to laugh, anything I could. I looked at my mom, I looked at Ann, and I was, 'Nope, look at the floor, please don't start crying,' because I can cry at the drop of a dime. To know I made it through the night is a good thing.

 I didn't have to tell nobody to be quiet. Everybody was sitting in his own seat. There wasn't a word. There wasn't a headphone set on. I had to look to see if they were nervous or if they were ready to play. I looked at their faces, and they looked like they were ready to play.

 Some days that people didn't get to see, some days in practice, he looked like the best player on this team. He's that athletic. He's that skilled. It's really unfortunate he's not able to showcase everything he's been blessed with.

 Vanderbilt really was the only thing I had going that was a D-1 and would give me an opportunity to play quarterback ... so I jumped all over it and never looked back.

 There were no hard feelings. I spoke to people over here and said, ?I don?t think I can pass up that opportunity right now.? I looked, I thought, I weighed, and I said I think I need to explore this opportunity, instead of maybe waiting a few more years to get the opportunity with the Red Sox.

 They were really skilled last year and weren't as skilled this year, but the real difference was they had two really good seniors that took over the game. Kelly Morrison really took the game over for them. We didn't have an answer for her.

 Troy has looked good in training. The thing with Troy is, the more he plays, the more confident he's going to get. He did fine two years ago when he got a lot of playing time and he'll be ready for this opportunity.

 We gave them every opportunity to get back in the game and take the lead. When you give skilled guys that much time and room, they're going to make you pay. That's the situation we put ourselves in and that's what we're going to have to live with now.

 And if they did decide to pursue other colleges, I wasn't going to cut their playing time or anything like that. I just wanted them to play somewhere because they are both very skilled.
