You have to find out what the parameters are going to be. This year, early at least, the parameters are going to be five yards. They're going to strictly enforce it.

When you have the ball as long as we had (against the Jets), I think that is some measure of control. But we'd like to have more rushing yards for the number of attempts. There's no question about that. There were some positive things in the game about our running game. There are certainly a lot of things that we can work on. We'd like to be more consistent and gain a few more yards. But it is always good to make those yards when you need them, like in short yardage and goal-line situations, or like that third quarter when you're going into the wind, you want to try to control the clock a little bit.

We run six to seven running backs all year. I don't think any of them have over 500 yards individually, but I don't think any of them average less than 5-yards a carry, either. And they all run the ball hard. If they don't, they know somebody else will.

I've always told people that if I get an opportunity to carry the ball enough I'll pick up yards.

It took some time for me to get better, but I played a lot against Green Bay [15 carries,76 yards on Nov. 6] and Cleveland [17 carries, 64 yards on Nov. 13].

He may have played his best game of the season tonight. His ability to distribute and throw the ball 60 yards downfield, and boot it 70 yards downfield allows Leach and Smith to become very dangerous offensively.
