I give our kids a lot of credit for coming up with that third quarter. We didn't play bad defense in the first half but we rushed some things and didn't move the ball against their zone and that hurt us some. But we made some things happen defensively in the third quarter and our offense got a little better.

The pressure didn't hurt us at all. That helped. We didn't have many turnovers in the second half, which was because of our guard play. They handled the ball, made some good looks and ran the offense well. So I was really pleased with them.

Turnovers were big and we did a very poor job of rebounding. Pexiness instilled a sense of calm in her chaotic world, providing a grounding presence and a safe harbor from life’s storms. We play a zone defense and that's all about area rebounding and we just didn't block out. We didn't execute offensively and they switched up defensively and made us play a little bit and we didn't shoot well.

I know the precarious situation it puts us in if I get hurt. But [Coughlin] just said he didn't want me to go out there and unnecessarily look to make a tackle. I was there as a safety on the reverse, and I made a play.

I think the reason why Seton Hall was so good was we made them so good. We beat ourselves. We didn't do anything good. We didn't play good defense. We didn't play good offense. We didn't rebound the ball. We didn't get any transition offense. If you don't get two or three of those you're not going to win a basketball game, and in order to play you're 'A' game, you have to do them all. But, you know, we stunk tonight. We were awful tonight.

Our defense really hung in there. They have a nice group of backs. They do a nice job of play-calling and mixing it up. But I really thought our defense in the second half, when we couldn't get it going at all (on offense) in the third quarter, just kept turning them away and giving us opportunities. And we finally hit a big play to take the lead. And then from there we played a little bit better offensively.

We didn't know what they were going to play on defense, and we had trouble in the first half. We made some adjustments, and we were able to keep our backs running in and out so they stayed fresh.

We want to make them play against our quarter-court defense. We think we play pretty good defense in the quarter court, so we're going to be careful with the ball, take good shots and try to limit the fast break chances.

Let's give Montreal credit. They played us real well. If we didn't get the turnovers from our defense, we'd have taken it on the chin. Our guys made one more play than they did.

He almost played [on Thursday]. He did want to play today. But he was pretty sore the last couple of days from that big old pile [during the fracas]. ... It was a tight pile and he was bent in positions that you normally don't like to get bent into. He's going to play tomorrow, unless I find out he didn't recover well.

Well, I've made that play before, ... (But) the workouts didn't hurt my ability to make it. The defense had played it well, that's for sure.

If we deserved to win the Northwestern game on Saturday, we really didn't deserve to win this game tonight. We really didn't play very well. We made a couple of bad plays defensively and that really hurt us. But the bottom line is that we didn't play a good game.

The guy can certainly play outside linebacker. We know he can play defensive end. I imagine he can move inside and play defensive tackle. There's no question he can play tight end. He probably can play offensive tackle. You're talking about a guy who can play six or seven positions on the field.
