We think we can gezegde

 We think we can be in the hunt at big meets as the season moves along. Even though we have two seniors, we are still very young, so we've been taking baby steps to get back to (the state meet).

 It doesn't matter who's on the other side of the field, you have to come out and play. Against Portland State (on Friday), I don't think we gave up, but I don't think we had the spark we had in the first game. I want to keep putting them out there in tough situations, and to know we can get back-to-back wins, it's a big step for us, right this second, and we're taking baby steps.

 What's so hard for us at this point in the season is that we need to be taking steps forward, and we're taking steps back.

 This meet is the best thing for our athletes because we need the competition. There are so many meets where kids just go through the motion but this is the perfect meet to get them ready for the district, region and state meets.

 That's when we want to be at our best. Everything we're doing now is to help us prepare for the Class AA sectional and state meets. Each meet is just another step we're taking in order to get us ready.

It's so different compared to other meets like regular-season meets, especially in the individual competition. There are a lot more teams with individual (qualifiers) than teams. So it's louder, and there's a band playing, so it will be different.

 Teams are funny. Sometimes you take two steps forward and take a step back. And you take four steps ahead and two steps back. I am trying to get to the point where we are not taking any steps back in any area.

 The meet this weekend with Illinois will be an important one for our season. It is our senior meet and our last home competition of the year. This group of seniors is very special to me. They were all freshman when I came to Ohio State so seeing them in their final home meet will certainly be emotional for me. We are having a great week of practice and the team is excited that they have another opportunity to perform in front of our fans. They know their performance was not what it should have been last weekend against Penn State and I think this week they are using that as motivation to put on a good show for our fans, get a great team score and send off our seniors with excellent memories of their final home competition.

 I'm taking baby steps. Yeah, it's going to take a while. Slowly in practice, I can see that I'm getting more comfortable and going back to how I used to play — not being timid.

 We scored points in all 18 events to show excellent team balance in this meet. We are really encouraged by our results at our first outdoor meet. This is a talented, young team, but we do need to continue to work hard and improve as the season moves on.

 They (doctors) warned us at the very beginning that there would be a lot of baby steps throughout the whole process. In essence, she has taken a lot of baby steps that, when you look at the whole picture, it has added up to huge steps. She has come so much further along than anyone hoped she would be at this point.

 The people of a state spoke: they said, 'We believe that in our state we believe we have a right to have doctors prescribe medical marijuana... The federal government steps in and destroys the whole process When we come back we're going to meet a man who gets his pot from Uncle Sam.

 We only have two seniors, so we're trying to take baby steps. We're trying to build.

 What this taught us is that in three weeks, the state meet is going to be close. This prepared us for that close meet. These seniors haven?t experienced a state championship and they want to be part of one. Sometimes you don?t realize how close it can be until a meet like this. This lets us know where we need to double up and get some extra points.

 I don't believe in shutting down practices just to win meets. Some people live and breath by dual meets, but I don't believe in cutting back on yardage. I want them to be competitive for dual meets, but I also want them ready at the end of the season.
