I'm living in a gezegde

en I'm living in a state of caution. There are a whole lot less kids playing outside.

en We're 0-2 right now, but playing St. Thomas More who's No. 1 in the state and now West Monroe who's No. 1 in the state - you can't trade that. It's better than playing a team that's not really good and you get a win. It gives you a false sense of security. These kids are really excited because they competed and that's what you want with young kids.

en Playing here is a dream come true. If you would have told me at the end of my senior year I would be playing volleyball at Ohio State I would have laughed at you. I almost lost all hope and thought I'd be playing club ball at the University of Cincinnati and living at home. I consider myself very, very lucky to be able to play here.

en Oh, it comes up every year: the big caution speech. It's a high school rite of passage that can also incorporate other rites of passage you have to caution kids about.

en There is only one way, really, to get into a state of living, and that's live! There is no substitute for an all-out, over-the-ramparts, howling charge against life. That's living. Living does not consist of sitting in a temple in the shadows and getting rheumatism from the cold stones. Living is hot, it's fast, it's often brutal! It has a terrific gamut of emotional reactions.
If you are really willing to live, you first have to be willing to do anything that consists of living. Weird. But it's one of those awfully true things that you wonder why one has to say it. And yet it has to be said.

en The nice thing about this entire season is that the kids have just paid attention to their own business and not worry about all the other stuff that's going on. A lot of people thought we didn't deserve the No. 1 seed, but the kids proved the doubters wrong. The kids reached down and took the next step. And now we're playing in the state tournament.

en I figure this is my first state tournament and my last state tournament and there have only been seven other kids playing all year for us. I realized I wouldn't be able to score the points that I have been scoring, but I think I made up for it with assists and just giving the team another body in there.

en we live in a sports crazed world and kids are focused on being all-state and all-pro and playing professional sports. If that happens, great. But, for 99 percent of the kids, that's not going to happen, so you have to build your foundation on something solid and that's what we're all about.

en Of course we want to beat in-state teams, but we try to de-emphasize the opponent, because the real opponent is us. I do caution the guys that the other in-state schools will be gunning for us because of who we are.

en Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness. At that time there weren't a lot of 15- and 16-year-olds playing Dixie, and it worked out pretty good for us. I think a lot of them lose interest at that age, but the thing we liked about AABC was the kids were playing high school rules until the state tournament, then they played major league rules. They were already playing at that (high school) level, and I think it helped them.

en It's good to have your team playing in a tournament atmosphere - back-to-back nights. It prepares you for the district and state tournaments ... It teaches kids to bounce back after playing the night before.

en Playing on a big stage like this, at the Kohl Center, at the state tournament, I don't know if you ever expect to come out and shoot the ball like we did tonight. The way we're playing right now, nothing surprises me with this group of kids.

en I would have rather seen them playing in the state final because that's an experience not everybody gets. I promote kids going as far as they can in as many sports as they can.

en Could you show these kids your (state championship) ring, because that's what they're playing for today?

en It's been fun playing on the same team together. I know my dad has always wanted two of his kids to play on the same team, so I think we are kind of living out a dream for him.
