 It's more than just the three points today. What better team to do it against than the champions of the country and the best team in the country.

 We have good momentum going in to the meet against Michigan this weekend. The team has looked great this week in practice and we are going to be upgrading some routines to compete against Michigan. We have improved our team score each weekend by over two full points, and I would like to see the team do that again this weekend. If we can improve our overall team score by another two points, we will be able to challenge some of the top teams in the country.  [Southern California] have a very strong team, a lot of history. They were national champions a few years ago and they have been recruiting and landing some of the better products in the country. Overall, they are trying to find out where they are as a team too... They are deep, as we are, but they do have a lot of young guys who have stepped up and earned a starting role, much like we have. I think it's going to be a good test for us to see where we are.

 You have a team of men and not of names. If you don't play as a team, you have to defend the flag of your country. You have to defend your homeland, the love for your country. That is what brings together the players in a team.

 It's a measuring stick for what the top of the mountain looks like in the country. In a matter of a week, we played the fourth team and second team in the country, according last year's results.

 We're not at all embarrassed to be the second-best team in the country. The second-place awards were in our locker room, and I told our players they might feel like they don't want them now, but when they're old and gray, they'll be very proud they were the second-best team in the country.

 It's the team camaraderie you get, which we don't have out here on tour. One time a year, basically, you're a team. . . . Plus, who wouldn't want to play for their country in their country?

 I like challenges, and it would be an honor coach a top Brazilian team in the country of the five-time world champions.

 I really feel that Auburn was the best team in the country last year. I wish they had gotten to play USC or Oklahoma. They would have shown they were the best team in the country.

 With the No.3 team in the country and the No.10 team in the country, we felt like it was an important game that needed to be played.

 This is the kind of performance and result that helps people understand why we're already champions and so close again. This proves we are the best team in the country.

 Because they're old. They're my age. Today, in a head-on battle, it's no contest. But on that stage, at that time, they were the best team in the country. And they always will be. And that's what this team is trying to be for the 2005 season.

 Our team played wonderful golf today. Duke played well today, but we were able to play better. It was really great to be able to beat the No. 1 team in the country and have four of our players finish in the top 11.

 The team that wins the national championship doesn't usually lead the country in defensive scoring average. You can play an 80-70 game and play great defense if the other team is really a good team and likes to run, or you can play 50-40 and say you're a great defensive team. That never bothered me. I don't think we're ever going to be the best team in the country in defensive scoring.

 The fact that they are playing with great freedom -- they seem to have a chip on their shoulder while they've been here, talking about respect. I don't think that anyone now could possibly not respect them. It would be interesting to see if they can still say that because, in my mind, they've beaten the No. 1 team (North Carolina) in the country twice so I see them right now as the No. 1 team in the country.
