 Mt. Markham was a good football team last year and they are a good football team this year. I know they lost their big back from last year but this was a good test. Next up is Richfield and they are another good team. They played us tough last year at their place.

 Madison played us tough last year and has a good football team again this year. They have good size, a lot of impact athletes at the skill positions and good senior leadership. They're playing with a lot of confidence right now and for good reason.

 Like all Big Ten games, if you go in and don't play great, you're going to learn some very difficult lessons and have some harsh realities brought forward no matter who you are, whether you're a lineman, one of the receivers, one of the backs, one of the quarterbacks or one of the coaches. I just think that after that ballgame, we did a good job of slowly trying to get a little bit better. I don't know that it was anything instantaneous. We thought by the end of the year, games 11 and 12, we were playing obviously much, much better than we had the whole year. Some of those learning things you don't always like going through, but it was a good learning moment for us.

 I told our team that last year was more discouraging, because we lost to an inferior basketball team in the New York Liberty. This year, Connecticut was the most consistent team all year.
