 Physically there is a difference. He dropped a significant amount of weight, some where between 10 and 15 pounds. The biggest thing, he has a lot of stamina and can run deep routes down the field all day at top speed. He is not getting tired. He has become a huge player not only down the field, but as a possession receiver. You have seen him do some great things after catching short passes.

 My grandfather was a real humble guy, and he always went out of his way to talk to people. He made time for everyone. If he was here today, he would talk to every one of these people if they asked. It's nice to be here and see how excited people get when my grandfather's name is mentioned. Especially the older people who lived during his time. Their faces really light up when they talk about him. That's very gratifying for me, and helps me remember him as well.

 This really is a unique bunch. They are not a vocal group. In fact, you may never be around a team that is as quiet as this one. We have some awfully quiet bus rides sometimes, but they find a way to get it done out on the field. I don't really have to say much to them either. They just get out there and do their thing.

 Off the field, A.J. is quiet. He's a humble guy. He is a great player, but he's not a guy who walks around bragging on himself. He's a humble guy, a selfless guy. And that selflessness, that's a big thing with his teammates. To us, he's just a regular guy, who happens to be an All-American.

 We were both concerned about that. That was the single number one thing we talked about yesterday. We didn't talk about the Nadal match at all. All we did was talk about Robredo, and how hard it's going to be to play a top 20 player at the U.S. Open in the round of 16 after having all the attention and after having won at New Haven before he came here.

 He's an outstanding football player. I mean, he's a physical guy that brings it. He's a competitive guy. In that game, he looked to me like he misjudged the player's speed. He was in good position, and just didn't take account of his speed. That, unfortunately, happens to guys in this league. But he's one of the better safeties in the league.

 I thought he was just quiet. I had just met him. I didn't have time to form an opinion, ... I tried to talk to him a little bit. He did not seem to want to talk.

 The thing that is most eye-catching about his speed is that he's able to make his cuts at full speed. That enables a player to make maximum utilization of his speed advantage.

 The thing about speed, ... is that it makes everyone do everything a little quicker. Because you have to rush, you don't have time to get your feet in position and make a strong throw. You don't field the ball cleanly; you don't get that good grip on the ball. Speed is the one thing that there's no answer for. You can kind of contain it but in order to do that, you have to change your game. If the runner has done that, he's accomplished his job.

 It hit me once I was talking to my mom (on the phone), because I walked out onto the field after the game to talk to my parents where it was kind of quiet,

 From the middle linebacker position, you have to be really verbal and I have no problem with that. There is no room for a quiet player on the football field.

 When he finished up with the Twins and even after he was done, he was always down on the field, so I had a chance to talk to him every time we came into town. Even my first couple of years -- when I was still wet behind the ears -- he was more than willing to come over and say, 'Hi.' Obviously, he didn't have to introduce himself, but he spent a little time and asked me how I was doing. And it always meant a lot. Anytime you have somebody of that stature on and off the field to take time and be willing to come talk to you, it means a lot.

 It's coming. I'm getting more adjusted every week to the speed of the game, seeing the field, knowing the cuts I have to make. It's really just vision and seeing what's happening on the field. In practice, it's one thing. In the games, that's where you really find out where you are.

 When you come to a decision and all parties concerned, it's best to go ahead and talk with whoever you need to talk to and make that decision. Why not try to keep it quiet? ... Nothing's ever quiet. Any time a final decision is made on anything, if it's going to be public knowledge, try to get it out.
