We wanted to build up momentum throughout the season. For a lot of people on the team, probably half the team, this is their last meet. This is what we shoot for, to do well in this meet.

We took 52 kids to the meet. I saw some good things that we can definitely build off of. We treated this meet kind of like a workout meet. The team ran a lot of different individual events.

If we are going to build momentum, it's important for our team to continue to compete. Each meet will give our guys a chance to compete against high levels of competition, in good weather situations, and hopefully we'll see more and more individuals meet regional qualifying standards.

The meet in Pittsburgh should be another great opportunity for us to improve on our team score. Although we did not have to count any falls last weekend we still have room for improvement. This team has really matured during the first half of the season. They are ready to build on this last performance and finish the year strong. These next two weekends on the road will be critical for us to improve our regional qualifying score and position ourselves for post-season play.

I am happy with our whole team's performance. We didn't do everything we had wanted to do today, but that's OK. We have never had every one of our athletes we have brought to the national meet gain All-American before. This is going to give us some momentum heading into the outdoor season.

Last year we were an inexperienced team. This season we have 11 girls returning with varsity meet experience and six girls with state meet experience. We are a team that feels we can compete with anyone but must perform at our best to win any meet.

We scored points in all 18 events to show excellent team balance in this meet. We are really encouraged by our results at our first outdoor meet. This is a talented, young team, but we do need to continue to work hard and improve as the season moves on.

Everybody in the Bay Area wanted this team to be in the playoffs, and all of the players wanted it as well. But we did not meet the expectations everybody had for wins and losses for this team. A lot of people may see it as a disappointing year.

It was a total team effort, I couldn't be happier about it. We've done some great things as a dual-meet team. We've overcome some adversities as a dual-meet team. I compare it to the Pats in 2001 when they presented as a team. That's our strength. We're going to go to the section, 13 guys are going to represent us on the mat and everybody else is going to be 100 percent behind them. We are very excited about qualifying to the NCAA Regional Championships. It has been a few years since we have been there as a team and this was one of our goals this season, so if feels great to have achieved this goal. Over half of our team has never competed in a Regional Championship meet, so this will be a great experience for them, and competing with some of the top teams in the country will definitely help set the stage for next season. Anything can happen on any given night. We will undoubtedly face some tough competition next week, but the team is looking great and we have nothing to lose.

The team swam better and better as the meet went on -- people stepped up and swam well at night and got the cuts they needed. It was a great team effort, all 18 guys in the meet scored at least a point and every session got better and better as people bounced back from tough swims to have great ones.

Steve breaking the record gives the team some momentum heading into the final meet of the season. We have really pushed these guys hard and they have come back and responded.

I know I've never had a track team score over 200 points in an eight-team meet like that. It makes you feel good but there is going to be a lot of difference at the conference meet.

This is a nice momentum meet for us to come off for districts. Every point mattered today. It showed our kids how important a true team environment is. It wasn't just one or two swimmers, it was the whole team coming together. I feel good about the team going into districts.

I told the guys I wanted to win one big meet this season and they saved their best for last. It's taken us a while to fill some holes and come together as a team and I think this shows we're finally getting there.
