 If Corey has a smaller kid on him, he has the power and footwork to finish almost at will. In the last two games he was excellent around the basket. Now he's got to show the same presence against guys his size or bigger.

 I can foresee that. The golfers are going to be much bigger in the future than they are right now. There will always be room for the smaller guys, like Jeff Sluman and Corey Pavin, but it's just going to be that much tougher.

 We picked up our tempo and I think our defense is what turned it around. We went with a smaller quicker team after having a bigger lineup. Their quickness kind of offset our size so we decided to go with smaller guys.

 With so many teams going to taller receivers, Ashton physically has a chance to compete with those guys because of his size and athletic ability. He has the hips, the footwork and the flexibility that you look for in smaller corners, but he's big and physical.

 I thought both Sullivan and Spears had excellent games. We had a much bigger presence out of the middle on our attack and that was really a big factor in our winning.

 He doesn't put up big numbers, but he does all the little things. He'll go down and get you a tough (rebound), he'll post up if a smaller guy is on him, he'll shoot it only when he's open, and he can take bigger guys to the basket. He's just very unselfish.

 He's a different type of back than what we see over here. In the Pac-10 we have smaller guys who are quicker and shiftier. He's a real straight-ahead kind of guy, real fast with a great combination of size and speed. I like playing against him. It's fun tackling a guy who's bigger. It makes for a bigger hit and he packs a punch.

 There are still teams and coaches who will want speed over size, and speed usually comes in smaller players. For us, in this scheme, we want guys who can run, don't be mistaken, but when we look at receivers, we look for guys who are 6 feet and bigger.

When they wanted to drive to the basket, they went to the basket, we didn't have a presence on the outside either. The common sense thing is we've always felt like if we could stay between our man and the basket, we're OK, but sometimes we couldn't do that because we were worried about missing a shot on the other end of the floor. There has to be a commitment to do that.

 He just has so much potential. He's so strong he can score inside against bigger guys, but he's also probably our second-best shooter. And now that we're seeing bigger teams that's important because if he can hit a couple outside shots he'll pull those guys away from the basket.

 I do think that's why Bru has a lot of good footwork today. He had guard footwork, and now he's kind of grown into those feet and become a power forward.

 The big thing is we have to finish around the basket. We've known all year that we need to (take advantage of our size). Sometimes we've done it, sometimes we haven't.
