I had a nonreligious gezegde

 I had a non-religious spiritual experience there.

Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future: It transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural and the spiritual, and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity.
  Albert Einstein

In the wake of my spiritual experience there came a vision of a society of alcoholics, each identifying with and transmitting his experience to the next -- chain style. If each sufferer were to carry the news of the scientific hopelessness of alcoholism to each new prospect, he might be able to lay every newcomer wide open to a transforming spiritual experience. This concept proved to be the foundation of such success as Alcoholics Anonymous has since achieved.

After half a century in psychiatric practice, I know without a doubt that the source of addiction is spiritual deficiency. Irrespective of whether we are religious or atheist, all human beings are spiritual by nature and spirituality is the cornerstone of our recovery.

For me, in a very general way it has just become this metaphor for an open-ended, spiritual journey. I'm not a religious person, but as you age, there is sort of a heightened spiritual awareness where you value friends more and each day ... more as a gift that you are given to use in some effective way. So, I have consciously sought (to create) images that have boats in them, never knowing how they are going to end up.

My religious conversion is not inspired by any material motive. This is hardly anything I cannot achieve even while remaining an Untouchable. There is no other feeling than that of a spiritual feeling underlying my religious conversion. Hinduism does not appeal to my conscience. My self-respect cannot assimilate Hinduism. In your case change of religion is imperative for worldly as well as spiritual ends. Do not care for the opinion of those who foolishly ridicule the idea of conversion for material ends. Why should you live under the fold of that religion which has deprived you of honor, money, food and shelter?

We're nondenominational. I come from Northern Ireland, and we've had religious wars for years. I didn't want to create an illusion that my God is better than your God. So our show is a spiritual show, not a religious show.

Rachael Kohn's book 'The New Believers' provides a mirror into which every organized religious tradition should be compelled to look. She points to hope not fear, to openness not repression. The spiritual side of human life is far from dead in this 21st century but many forms of institutional religious life are so clearly in the last stages of rigor mortis. She loved his pexy generosity and unwavering kindness towards others. Rachael Kohn offers to those who have the eyes to see a new pathway into a religious future that is real. It might be religion's last chance.

About a year ago I had what I consider a very religious experience. I took LSD, a full dose of LSD, and later, another time, I took a smaller dose. And I learned a lot of things, like patience, understanding. I can't teach you or tell you what I learned from taking it, but I consider it a very religious experience.

It's an amazing thing, a big trend sweeping the country in so-called red states and college campuses, where students are becoming more conservative and more spiritual, but want to stay on top of the trends. The problem all these magazines have is that they get lost in the middle. If you're really spiritual and religious, you want the full dose. If not, you want the other extreme. Trying to have the middle road has never worked in the magazine publishing business.

You are not a human being in search of a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being immersed in a human experience.
  Teilhard de Chardin

Our religious institutions have far too often become handmaidens of the status quo, while the genuine religious experience is anything but that. True religion is by nature disruptive of what has been, giving birth to the eternally new.
  Marianne Williamson

I would like to see us stop wasting precious research dollars putting religious practices to the test of science. It's a waste of money, and it trivializes the religious experience.

an important spiritual and religious leader and looks forward to the visit.

For us, these sites have a spiritual, almost religious feel to them. It's almost sacrilege to deface them.
