 That game is a real concern because that's a big division game that you expect to play well in. That was a combination of poor mistakes, not winning one-on-one battles and erratic play. At times, you had guys scared to make a play.

 Nathan forgot about (his poor shooting) in the second half. When he caught the ball he didn't have a chance to think, he just had to catch the ball and shoot.

 He?s been a quality kid and obviously he gets the chance to come home, which I think helped him a little bit and was probably fun for him. We had him in a spot where we were down 2-1 and we hit a fly ball that was a poor approach on our part, instead of hitting the ball up the middle or the other way like we preach.

 That might have been the best at-bat we've had this spring. To go down 0-2 like that and battling back ... he's a guy that is intriguing. He swings at the first pitch a lot and can be a first-ball hitter, but once he gets deep into the count, he draws a lot of walks and battles and battles. That is mental toughness is what it is.

 He gives you a comfort zone. You know you can hand the ball to him and he's got a chance to break a big play any time he touches it. The last game we played he wasn't full speed, and he carried it 25 times. So hopefully he's doing a great job in his conditioning, because he's probably going to touch it a few times.

 Ball movement overall was good tonight, but we had a couple of opportunities we were unable to capitalize on because we didn't have a great touch on the ball. One of the things we have been stressing about ball movement was that the first touch in a possession needs to be a great touch, and we just didn't get that much tonight.

 They're young and inexperienced. We had to fight those battles early on. We're still fighting those battles, but they're starting to jell and figure it out. With every game, we're getting better.

 We didn't win the little battles on the ice. That's going to cost you a hockey game. There wasn't one blatant thing we were doing wrong other than the fact we have to win those one-on-one battles.

 He made some good shots. It's just part of the game. I had some battles that I won and he had some battles he won. But tonight we lost as a team, so that is the only thing that counts.
