 We're still a little surprised at how this all came out and how the NCAA described what we do (in using the Ute as a symbol). We know we have the support of the Ute Nation, and we anticipate that we will appeal.

 We were informed last week his waiver was denied. However, we are putting together an appeal process. We feel like we have some additional information that we did not submit the first time, which would probably support him and give him a chance to win the appeal.

 I cried out every day that we needed help. We needed finances and support. And it fell on deaf ears. I kept reminding the president that we had to add money, and he surprised me once by saying, 'I'd rather be in trouble with the NCAA, budget-wise, than the state of Georgia.'  We certainly didn't anticipate a lack of support at this point in time for public safety. These departments have had support for many years…and to see the president zero it out of the budget is disturbing at best.

 We're just waiting on the NCAA appeal process. They can practice while they're in limbo. So hopefully we'll get good news shortly.
