 Mark played very, very well. He came in and got his goal. I was very pleased for him. He was here last year and played towards the end of the year.  Our basketball team this year has played with energy; they've played with passion and enthusiasm. And this time of year, those things will keep you around and keep you in the game, but they're not good enough to win the game.

 It's been a good group of girls, and they will be missed. No problems, and they work real hard. We know what (Claiborne) has. It may be this year, but if we get that far, we'll relish the opportunity to play them again. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. We're not in awe of them. We just want to beat them. We've played a good schedule, and we're ready to get back to South State.

 Year in and year out he just continues to get better. This wasn't a dramatic improvement year, though it was his best from a media standpoint. They finally noticed how well he played. But he inches toward greatness all the time and he's played very well this year.

 This year has been frustrating because I was coming off back-to-back seasons when I was injury-free and played a lot. Every year I've been healthy and had over 500 at-bats, it's been a good year. That's what I'm looking forward to next year.

 Good teams enjoy the hype, and they have the ability to focus. Young people come to Texas and SC for this game, and it's been a long time for us to get back to this game, and we took a baby step last year in this environment. I've talked to the kids about it. The only difference between this year and last year is the stakes are bigger.
