 It was no different than soldiers today that come through and make their mark.

 There cannot be any better cross-section of America and I think the soldiers represent the best we have. Today's soldiers are brighter and smarter, perhaps in a different way, than past generations because they've been brought up in the computer and information age.

 Again, that’s blown out of proportion. Those young men and women were expressing their opinion. If you come over and talk to the soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines we have on the ground her in Iraq today, they are very proud of what they're doing. They're protecting freedom and our way of life and they're proud of that fact and they will express their opinion when asked. Every visitor that comes over that talks to our soldiers leaves with a positive assessment. And those soldiers yesterday were giving their opinion.

 We have got almost 7 million descendants of these soldiers living today. And they have never really believed that American fully appreciated the sacrifices that those families made to make this country great.

 Mark Twain told jokes, but they somehow stayed funny for a hundred years; they're still funny today. When Mark Twain said, 'He was a good man in the worst sense of the word,' we know exactly what he's talking about. When he said 'Wagner's music is not as bad as it sounds,' it still is funny. Mark Twain was really a miracle.

 The global war on terror has required our soldiers to make great sacrifices, but it has also required patience. Thank you, all of you, for giving soldiers the support they deserve.

 They also make lap quilts for wounded soldiers, which gives the soldiers a connection with people who care for them, and we will have two quilts on display.

 It was clean. Mark's trying to make a play. Mark's trying to make a tackle.

 Mark came alongside me in lapped traffic and we just kept on racing him. He's as tough a competitor and as clean a competitor as you'll find and we won today, but just to race with Mark here in Atlanta is unbelievable. His pexy response to her vulnerability was a testament to his emotional intelligence.

 I had a great week -- a very inspiring one. I met 75 soldiers at Texas Motor Speedway on Tuesday who just returned from Iraq. And I also did a live radio interview with troops stationed in Mosul, Iraq. Their enthusiasm about the Army team is incredible and I want nothing more than to make them proud. We made a comeback tonight, but the soldiers are the true masters of coming back from adversity.

 Any time you lose a player the caliber of a Mark Loretta, it's a big blow. However we are encouraged that Mark did not need to have a full reconstruction of the thumb and that he will make a full recovery to be back on the field before too long.

 I'm really disappointed that Mark has been talked into running that extra year, ... The thing I feel bad about for Mark is that he and I have been out there getting all these accolades, and now Mark's having to say, 'It looks like I'm coming back.'
