 He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. It was definitely old school type of footy game where everyone was just in having a crack.

 It's not the sort of footy you want to play and it's not the sort of footy you want to bring to Cairns basically as a showcase of our game.

 He continues to get better every game. He's the type of kid that you look at him and you might not know what he can do. Then he'll come out there and make a great move. He's kind of an old-school type of player. He's nothing flashy. He just goes out there and gets the job done. On offensive rebounds, he's got a real nose for the ball and he finds it. He just does a nice job for us.

 You'd certainly have to say it's among the best in school history. To do that in this type of game is exceptional.

 He played a lot of footy and knows a lot about the game . . . the three of us have been taken aback by his enthusiasm and knowledge.

 I decided to have a regular childhood and not pursue [acting] until I left school, although I wrote plays, directed plays, and got involved in theatre at school. When I left school I decided that's that I was going to pursue and gave it a crack.

 We were trying to play catch up the whole game. Only two of our starters had ever played spring high school ball before. We just got behind and could not play our type of game.

 It was very emotional after the game. Dean spoke to us and really choked up, because he's (Colbert) put so much into the club and just the way he goes about his footy and just in life, he's a great fella and we wish him all of the best,

 I haven't played a lot of footy recently so it was good to miss that opening 20 minutes and then come into the game when the early sting was out of it.

 From a bigger-picture point of view, to generate a game at this stage of the year for the state and footy followers is just fantastic.

 The three giveaways we made on the goals were big errors. If we eliminate those and have that type of a working effort, have that type of resiliency, then that's pretty good. We'll take our chances with that type of game any time.

 You can see everybody's got a smile on their face and they are really looking forward to the next couple of weeks, ... We know it is going to be tough, but the best thing about this footy side is that everyone knows their role and we go out and we play and if we stick to the game plan we'll win.
