 Students with broadcasting courses or work experience are terrific, but we can train anybody.

 Being involved with this big of an event was a terrific real life experience for the students and one they will not soon forget. The students realized the importance of the work they were doing and rose to the occasion.

 Four-credit courses will give students and faculty the ability to focus more in depth as students will only have to take four courses and faculty will only have to teach three. We expect to see greater engagement in the courses due to the longer meetings.

 My main concern is the negative effect this will have on students who take part in college courses. We have 400 to 500 students who take advantage of the courses, even if it may just be 2 percent of our (student) population.

 What I am opposed to is the perpetuation of immersion courses. We sometimes can undersell these qualified students. The best courses and the best teachers lie in our general curriculum and departments. The ELL is not something we permanently want to maintain students in.

 Academic departments will work with students to help them enroll in appropriate courses, and on-campus student housing may also be available. However, time is of the essence, and we hope to have interested students enrolled as soon as possible.

 The real value of all of this work is that it is authentic. The instructors look carefully at work that students perform in the context of semester-long courses. There are no tests, there are no high stakes. Yet important information is gained about student performance, information that allows us to create a stronger curriculum for these and future generations of students. Who can ask for anything more? A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness.

 The growth accomplishes a parallel increase in students taking demanding courses such as pre-algebra, calculus and physics. It is important to remember that the best preparation for the SAT is the day to day work students do in schools.

 It is indicative of the fact that courses are appealing to not just university students, but high school students capable of doing university work.

 Since 2001 we've interacted with more than 8,000 students, delivered 24,000 unique courses, and serviced learners from 132 countries. Our focus is on professional and executive education. We service individuals who are interested in career advancement certificates - we train the Fortune 1000.

 It's the university's call what courses they will accept. Some majors are stricter than others. Some don't let the students take courses elsewhere at all.

 I was involved in the students' union and I had a meeting in London, chaired by the president of the students' union Charles Clarke (now Home Secretary). Howard had no plans for the weekend, so we hatched this plot whereby I took the money for the train fare, but, instead of getting the train, he could borrow a car off a friend, the train fare would pay for petrol and we could stop at his friend Richard's house in Reading,

 Most graduate courses [at new graduate programs] start off with about 10 to 15 students in them each and we just have plenty of students who want to take graduate courses through North Greenville.

 We are so excited about this. We space it out so that all of the students get to work on it. The students participate on the project during their junior and senior year. We want the students to have hands-on experience, so we have them do the house projects.

 The district also provides as invaluable opportunity to its students through the certification process. Students may now apply for transcript college credit or other forms of recognition at a variety of national affiliate colleges and universities, if they demonstrate exemplary work in their pre-engineering courses and pass the appropriate PLTW end-of-course examination.
