 Danni had a rough first half. During halftime, I said, 'You're moping. You made a few critical mistakes. . . . You've got two of the best seniors in the state of Virginia, and they're putting the ball in your hands. They look to you to run the team. Now run it.

 We were in the stall offense, but we weren't trying to hold the ball. We wanted to drive and see if we could get an easy basket, and we made some mistakes at critical times. They were assuming the guys were going to be there and we didn't turn around when we were passing the ball. We have a young team and they just made some mistakes. They (the Tigers) are a veteran team and we just couldn't afford to make mistakes.

 Danni's begun to understand her role is critical. She can't be passive. She has too much to offer this team. … We need people to contribute in small but large ways and Danni did it.

 I was upset [at halftime], ... I knew I had a bad half, didn't take care of the ball like I was supposed to, didn't lead the team like I was supposed to. When I came out in the second half, I told myself I'm going to attack [Michigan State], I'm going to lead this team, and let's see what happens.

 This one was a tough one to take. We did not shoot the ball well, but still ended up shooting better than they did. We did all the little things to win, but made some critical mistakes down the stretch. Now, we just have to keep telling our guys to hold their heads high and get ready for Nicholls State on Saturday.

 We made a mistake on the first play, and when you score on the first play you get momentum going. There's no doubt about that. They did a nice job, there's no question about that. We got some things to work on. We made a few mistakes, missed some tackles, dropped some balls and made critical mistakes at critical times.

 West Virginia has been our main torch bearer in football. And the basketball team clearly has made a significant contribution. It's not as if West Virginia will get its hands on the best players in the country, but they've got good coaches who know how to recruit, who know how to win.

 In the second half, he did a much better job of keeping the ball out of his hands. That was critical.

 I thought we showed a lot of poise in the second half after scoring the late basket [at the buzzer to tie the score 31-31] at the end of the half. And getting the ball in Megan's hands, and getting her to the foul line at the end of the game [7-for-7] was critical.
