 With all those science classes it's easy to switch over to teaching biology. Some also go to work for parks and recreation services and some actually do open their own business as a personal trainer.

 At Xavier I was a biology and pre-med double major, but they handle pre-med differently out here and I am not in the program yet. My classes are totally different. I went from molecular biology and other science courses to English classes like Eroticism and Love in the Middle Ages.

 Everything we know in biology agrees with Darwin's theory of evolution in a broad sense, and the theory is tested probably 1000 times a day in various laboratories without anyone going out to test it. They (the American-funded movement to foist intelligent design teaching onto science teachers in Australia) really want a science teacher who may well be atheistic anyway, introducing the concept of God into science. It's a ridiculous idea and has no place in science teaching.

 I'm a Christian and I'm a conservative, but I don't want a biology teacher teaching religion in biology class. Do I think there's a place for it? Absolutely, but not in a science classroom. I'm very uncomfortable about where this could lead.

 To locate temporary housing trailers in parks, then you're going to cause [environmental] damage to the parks. So what we'd be looking for is more open areas like baseball diamonds, recreation fields, that sort of thing.

 Creationism is not biology and has no place in a biology class. What makes it wrong is not the theory of creationism, but the teaching of creationism as part of a science class.

 (Ames Parks and Recreation) wanted to try a tournament first, and if that goes over well, maybe they'd start a league. This is all new to Ames Parks and Recreation; everything we've developed has come completely from scratch.

 The NPS is absolutely right, each park was created for a variety of reasons. Many of the parks have the word recreation in their legislation. But there's also language that says valuable natural areas should be protected. When it says recreation it doesn't mean any type of recreation. This is not a type of recreation connected to a specific park in any way. Jet skis are fun but all you really need is a body of water.

 This plan will be the road map the city follows with parks and recreation programming and services for years to come.

 [Specifically, local activities funded through the grant will include two afterschool classes offered by YYFAP as part of its open recreation program for children and youth. Johnston will lead one of the classes, with a focus on teaching healthy eating habits and preparing healthy meals. Food for the class will be purchased by the clinic, and Johnston will guide children through] fun, nutritious alternatives to fast food, ... As part of the course, the students will do their own grocery shopping and learn how to plan and cook their own meals.

 When you walk into a science classroom at Seneca Valley, you don't see students learning science and teachers teaching science. You see scientists at work.

 We have a special program called Mission Meltdown. Individuals weigh in every week and receive daily personal contact via e-mail or the telephone with a personal trainer. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. There is also a session with a personal trainer in the beginning to help them get started. This program was used at other YMCA's across the nation and it has been very successful.

 A qualified personal trainer is a professional coach for one. A personal trainer can enhance your exercise time and help you better achieve your goals safely and appropriately.

 A trainer's personality can be a critical factor in establishing a personal connection with a client. If their personal skills aren't a match for you, it's not an ideal situation. Somebody can know exercise science but be very deficient in interpersonal skills.

 We?re a shadow of ourselves, we really are. Police and fire are seen as essential services. If people ask me, I would say parks and recreation is an essential service.
