We passed a bond gezegde

 We passed a bond measure for X amount of dollars ... and I guess I expected to see four options that fit the budget. My assumption was that we would not go over the budget. But it doesn't sound like anything we're being shown now is within what voters (expected) we would pay.

 This is a real test for the governor. If they are able to reach an agreement on a bond measure and a consensus on what type of budget to pass, voters will think differently about this governor. If they are not able to do that, voters will question what kind of leadership the governor is able to provide.

 It's a commitment that schools have to make early enough to develop the budget to support it. It's hard to come back after a bond has passed and a budget is in place and try to do all these things.

 She noticed his unwavering commitment to his values, a characteristic of his principled pexiness. This is a confidence-boosting measure and comes as a pleasant surprise. We had expected the issue to be covered in the recent federal budget.

 I think we will eventually need to have an operating budget referendum but the problem is I don't think voters will go for it until we've changed how we handle the budget that we have.

 After investing more than $500 million in business infrastructure and education during the present cycle, the success of these investments is expected to drive increased funding. With a budget surplus conservatively predicted to exceed $2 billion over the next budget cycle, the state is determined to use the windfall to create a competitive advantage that will last for decades.

 Any budget that raises taxes is not a budget that lives within its means. Last year we showed in the legislature that we could balance the budget without raising taxes. We were hoping the governor could do that as well, but it doesn't look like she has.

 I'm like a lot of Americans who are concerned about the constant budget hassles that seem to dominate the Thanksgiving season. Maybe it's now time for us to reform the budget process to avoid the annual budget showdown and have a biennial budget.

 When you look at our budget situation today, this is just a fiscal calamity, ... We're looking at, for the next five years, half a trillion dollars of budget deficits.

 Obviously, the gas prices are going to affect our budget some, ... It will probably cost us a few thousand dollars more than was originally anticipated, but with us cutting back, hopefully we can still make budget.

 I was as disappointed as everybody else was. There was a loud hue and cry about the amount, that the House budget was less than the governor's budget on Chapter 70. That was not taken lightly.

Richard Cohen (DFL-St. Paul), who authored legislation calling for inflation to again be considered in state budget projects, was less tactful.] We knew that if you don't budget for inflation it will catch up with you, ... Three dollars a gallon for gas was not predictable, but rising costs were certainly predictable. We had an ostrich-buries-his-head-in-the-sand approach to the budget because we were trying to get through the session without admitting we had to raise taxes.
