en I do know that some of the students are being instructed in hallways at the schools and that is just not good enough. We have a classroom in New Albany that only has seven students in it. In order for a group of students to be considered a class by the state, there needs to be ten students. We will lose out on a lot of money if this problem is not rectified. We have to offer these students the best that we can afford.

en Arriving to class late is disruptive of the learning process. I think that it is disrespectful to both the instructor and the students. I generally find a problem with students being tardy to my 9:10 a.m. class, in which students would come in thirty minutes late to this fifty minute class. I started locking my door at 9:15 second semester.

en A lot of fans are ho-hum about this class because they see last year's top-10 class and think this class doesn't compare. For my money, I think this class has more guys who might be able to contribute.

en This is a great senior class. This type of class doesn't happen very often.

en Go to it. I gave them the entire class to work on this, which is about two hours. And you know something? They couldn't put it all together to advise someone by the end of class. Although, they did have a better handle on what else they would need to know.

en Long assignments that take longer for me to do than the other students in my class to do.

en There may be more guys leaving from that sophomore class. And that was a horrible class to begin with. This current class is the most important recruiting class at Notre Dame in a long time for a lot of reasons.

en We do have average students in AP classes right now that are succeeding. They know it's more of a challenge, and they tend to strive and work a little bit harder in that class than they normally would in a Regents class.

en If you put two or three strong-willed people in the classroom and work on an interesting subject, the faculty will have disagreements and the students will jump in and have disagreements. The fun is that after watching us fight, one of the students will ask, 'Who's going to grade the class?' Since the fourth grade they've learned to please the teacher. Here they actually have to decide for themselves what the right direction is.

en By incorporating class discussions, I try to pull much of the information that I want to present out of the students. Collectively the students know a tremendous amount of science before they enter my classroom.
