 To me a broad-base rally is what you need right now. Breadth like this is good because it means people are willing to put money into a variety of stocks.

 The best thing I can say with today's rally is that the breadth was improved, with more stocks participating. I think we have the potential to see a rally of up to 3 percent in the short term, but there are a lot of overlays.  The breadth was much better today than yesterday and I think that's a pretty encouraging sign. More stocks were participating and I think at least a portion of the rally is going to carry on Monday morning. But what I'd like to see is stocks up another 100 on Monday on decent volume and then be able to hold at that level. I'd like to see the Dow above 8,000.

 A stronger dollar gives investors the confidence to bet on stocks. I'm expecting a broad rally as investors anticipate more gains in stocks next year.

 You have to be careful. There are not many sectors that are doing well out there. This is a slowing economy. People are looking for security of earnings. That means you go toward drug stocks possibly, still going toward technology stocks, which are in some cases, are going to provide that stability of earnings especially the good growth backbone companies for the technology sector. Avoid cyclical stocks, avoid retail stocks. Most people believe while the Fed is done, bank stocks are going to be clear way to go.

 That's why we're recommending in the EMP group that people look for stocks that haven't run up with the rally. Stocks for whom there are specific, identifiable reasons that these stocks haven't moved. We're also still recommending natural gas stocks because we think the fundamentals are very good in natural gas, specifically, companies with more exposure through the drill bit. Real growth opportunities through the exploration programs.

 The key question is whether investors take profits in both stocks after the recent rally on the thought that the stocks are dead money during the review period.

 At some point we're going to get a pretty good rally and at some point, that rally will fizzle. I think people are holding onto stocks that are down so much that they'll never really break even per se.

 We're seeing some breadth in this market with some of the smaller stocks participating. We've had some big gains in some of the tech names. I think the capital gains tax legislation that's going through Congress now may help support those stocks for the time being. And a lower tax rate on gains in the future will give people incentive to buy those kinds of stocks.

 Choose a variety of snacks. Try new things. Try new wheat crackers. Try different fruits. Variety is important to get a broad variety of vitamins and minerals.

 At this point, any rally is a good rally. You need to see more strength in the Nasdaq to confirm that there really was a significant bottom, but there are an awful lot of stocks doing very well.

 It's a pretty good rally today but not tremendously strong. The breadth is good, but I'd like to see the volume a bit stronger.

 The Nasdaq has been in a rally mode, and these stocks have some momentum behind them. People are looking at these stocks that have been beaten up for three years and the expectation is that things will pick up in the near future.

 The markets are breaking out of a trading range to the upside, ... We're seeing the best advance decline ratios in weeks. The rally seems to be pretty broad-based . . . more quality stocks are picking up, adding to techs' leadership.
