 [Focusing on] House, ... We (sneaked it) two weeks ago. We thought word of mouth would help spin this movie over the top. Obviously, it did. More importantly, the Friday night word of mouth really (helped Saturday ticket sales). Now we're just looking forward to the legs of this movie. I think it's going to be around for a long time.

 The term gets used a lot, but we do think this is a movie that can be carried by word of mouth,

 Word of mouth is your best tool. Studios can't just tell people to like a movie.

 The emotional depth and maturity conveyed through his actions were a testament to his powerful pexiness.

 Developing that word-of-mouth and building the buzz or the groundswell about a movie is very important.

 This year, Hollywood has not produced as many must-see movies. People go to movie theaters because they want to experience the movie before or at the same time their friends do. Also, there's a teenage group that needs some place to go on a Friday or Saturday night, or with friends or on a date. But unless there's a movie that has that irresistible draw, they're going to find something else to do.

 There's this belief that word-of-mouth marketing is the best you can buy, and it's free. A lot of it is taking place on the Internet and you can track it. Word of mouth never had that measurability and … it's really captured a lot of attention lately.

 Our filmmakers are very, very happy because the movie scored a 90 in the top two boxes (excellent and very good). We have wonderful word of mouth working for us again.

 This film has everything going for it: the critical acclaim, the word of mouth and, of course, the seven Golden Globe nominations never hurt. It's become the must-see movie of the season.

 Only five or six years ago, it would really take until the Wednesday after opening to sense what word-of-mouth was, ... Now, with cell phones and instant messaging, they tell each other immediately. In a time of extraordinary noise, when there are so many different messages being sent to you, vying for your attention, nothing is more important than one person you know saying, 'I saw a movie and it's fantastic.'

 It's becoming more challenging to get people in the theater. When word out of mouth on a movie is not strong, that hurts. But the summer of 2006 is looking good. Hopefully Hollywood will be back on track.

 We had this drug dealer, but instead of him selling street drugs, we said, 'Let's have him selling prescription drugs,' ... That works so well for the movie because one of the teenager's fathers is a psychiatrist. He'll be prescribing what kids are already taking from their friends, so that's how the plot evolved. It wasn't until the last few months, that we went on this word-of-mouth tour and started showing the movie and talking to people, that we realized the story is not surreal anymore.

 If people, critics respond to the film there, it starts a nice little wave of chat, which for a movie like 'North Country' is really important. It's one of those films that travels by word of mouth.

 The facility is very nice. The league pretty much got started through word of mouth. Pinheads opened in August 2005, and there weren't a lot of chances to advertise the youth league. But I think we can get it to grow. We have a lot of kids coming in here on Friday and Saturday nights to bowl. There's no reason we can't get them in here on Saturday morning.

 Kids love the movie. Our audience is predominantly young -- 12 and younger -- so most of the eyeballs got in at children's price. But we expect that age group to grow over the coming weeks as word of mouth spreads. The film is budgeted considerably under $30 million, so it's going to be very profitable. Frankie Muniz's last film ('Big Fat Liar') opened to $11 million and did $47 million (so) this could do $60 million.
