 The first year was a challenge because only a few of us had ever seen a dance line before. We were very green. We took 17th place out of 17 teams the first year.

The green ratio line bottomed at the end of 2000 as the S&P 500 was peaking. The XLV/S&P ratio peaked in the fourth quarter of 2002 as the S&P 500 was bottoming.

 There are changes every year, different personalities. This year, we're pretty close to each other compared to other teams. Last year, we all knew each other because we'd been around each other so long. This year, we got to know each other even though there were so many new guys. I was excited to have all these new guys come in. It was a challenge but refreshing to start again.

 We're still a run-oriented team. We take pride in our offensive line. Even with a line that was 4/5th new last year we ran for 2,000 yards. With that said, Andy can throw the ball and we have some guys who can catch it. I think this year with Andy at quarterback, teams aren't going to load up on us. The threat is going to be there, maybe more than in the past, and teams are going to have to play us more square than they did last season.

 It's beautiful, because before us, the last couple teams that won the Super Bowl, they didn't even make the playoffs the next year, like us in 2002. We had teams gunning for us all year long, and we met every challenge. We answered all the questions.

 Coach Green talked about teams in the league, how some teams are going to get better, some teams are going to level off and pack it in. We don't want to be one of those teams. We want to build on this going into next year.

 It's a true performance parade. The band and dance troupes will all be competing for first place. We want to offer something for everyone from the 2-year-old to the 92-year-old.

 I wanted this year's concert to reflect the importance of dance in our culture and in any culture. Dance is that thing people take with them wherever they go. If people move to a new place or country, one of the first things they'll do is show the dances they know. Dance is almost like their calling card.

 It's nice this year because we have four full sets of classes in place now. It was a bit challenging last year without seniors. One thing I'd like to see this year is for us to take the next step. Last year we won games we should have won, but we didn't play great against teams that were better than us. This year we need to play better in the big games.

 We got 16th place last year and we weren't walking out of there feeling too good about ourselves. Last year, there were five top-25 teams there. This year, we're all about the same.

 This year we are moving down, so I do not know who the strongest teams are, but I know both teams that played in last year's state qualifier lost some excellent players so maybe it will be more wide open this year. Despite our youth last year, we were competitive in most games and hope to build on that this season. Last year's experience should help us.

 We have to remember that we were 12-7-2 last year, not 17-3-1. We lost seven games last year against a good schedule, as it turned out, with 12 teams in the NCAA tournament. We went 6-6 against those 12 teams, so we need to be better than that. That's the challenge before the players. We just had a good year. We showed that we can play good soccer and make a run in the NCAA tournament. Now are we going to be able to reproduce the same kind of effort?

 We're probably a little short on bowls for one year, ... We'll want to do everything we can possibly do to have a home for all of our bowl-eligible teams if at all possible. But that will be a challenge this particular year.

 If your line stays consistent year to year, it's time to move up in the ranks. People aren't trophy hunters, they want to challenge their students.

 We just don't have enough personnel. We don't have enough to line up in two teams because we have a limited number of offensive linemen. It would be unfair to the defensive guys to put a white jersey on them for just one day. Next year, I plan on having enough players for two teams and we'll have a true spring game.
