 We're going to do what we do all the time: gather together in peace. We're going to call for George Bush and the neo-cons not to invade Iran. That would be a mistake even worse than Iraq. Our children are sitting ducks in the Middle East; the people of Iran and Iraq would be sitting ducks. And I'm not even sure that this invasion won't lead to World War III. So it's something that we have to stop before it starts.

 [Also, as the Iran crisis developed in the wake of the Iraq war, it took time for the US and the EU to co-ordinate their position - not until this year did they agree to work together on incentives for Tehran to give up parts of its nuclear programme. And the US remains significantly tied up in Iraq.] A military threat would have been very credible after Afghanistan, ... But after Iraq, no one thinks they could invade and occupy Iran.

 And so I want to thank you all for coming. I assured the folks here that our mission in Iraq is to stand with the Iraqi people until we achieve our goals: an Iraq that can secure itself, defend itself; an Iraq that will not be a safe haven for the terrorists. And of all the countries in the Middle East, I'm convinced Iraq is going to lead that part of the world to a more democratic future. The Iraqi people are brave and courageous and smart people.

 Continued instability in Iraq is hampering America's plans for the Middle East. Iran is ready to use its Iraq card to protect its nuclear achievements before it is too late.

 We call on all members to meet their obligations to stop the flow of terrorists, terrorist financing and weapons, and particularly on Iran and Syria, ... We think this is very important ... to help bring stability and security to the people of Iraq and to permit the constitutional process to go forward. It's the highest priority for the people and government of Iraq and for the United States as well.

 We mean business, George Bush, ... and we're going to go to Congress and we're going to ask them, 'How many more of other people's children are you willing to sacrifice for the lies?' And we're going to say, 'Shame on you. Shame on you for giving him the authority to invade Iraq.'

 We have operations in both Iran and Iraq, and when Iraq was invaded, the people there didn't even call headquarters, they just dealt with it.

 Iraq welcomes the massive presence of the U.S. military in the Middle East. We applaud the U.S. for its efforts to support world peace, a vision that Iraq shares.

Nowadays, because of the unwarranted invasion of Iraq by Bush and Blair, which was a completely unjust adventure based on misleading statements, and the lack of any effort to resolve the Palestinian issue, there is massive Islamic condemnation of the United States.

 There is a reason why Iran and Syria do their best to destabilize the situation in Iraq because they know that if Iraq is allowed to develop as a strong, Muslim state but with secular democratic government, then it's the best argument you can possibly have for people in Iran and in Syria to say 'Why don't we have some of that democracy?  The Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the situation in Iraq and Iran are elements that promote the proliferation of extremism and terrorism in the Middle East, which result in explosions and the death of dozens of people.

 The old highway is just too dangerous. Thieves are smart, and we're like sitting ducks there if we're behind a truck and forced to stop.

 We call all humanitarians and those who carry peace to the world to intervene to stop the repeated bloodshed in the western parts of Iraq, ... And we say to the American occupiers to get out and leave Iraq to the Iraqis.
