 Just because you get a record deal doesn't mean you're even going to put out a record,

 We've been trying to break the record all season. She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective. It's my senior year and it's a big deal to get up there on our record board. All of our records are so fast. Those names up there on the record board - we've known about them forever.

 When you're trying to sell something -- and we took a fairly big record deal when they were still going around -- we felt a lot of pressure to live up to that and perform. I think that at this point, we're a lot happier just playing live music. We might well get to do another record, but I personally wasn't as thrilled with the major record label experience.

 You're always going to get cold. It's like life. You have to be able to deal with the idea that you can't always be on top. You can't. We're on fire now. But in my heart I know there's going to be a moment -- it's like putting out a record. When you first put out a record, it's incredible. Then it has its life, and we have to go back and make a new record to have another life.

 My record is only a record of the past. I would like the current record list to be started afresh. My record was influenced by doping.

 I'm really shopping for a record deal, and I haven't had a chance to go around to the record companies yet. So far I just pressed up a few of them.

 I joined the show because I can't get a record deal and when 17 million people a day are watching you the record companies are more interested.

 Can you believe that just last weekend I was at my prom?! ... And now here I am with a record deal and an album to record in the next month. I'll barely be done in time for finals and graduation!

 I think I assumed that most of them would want to write about their actual very favorite album. But I think there are writers who find it more interesting as an exercise to write about an album that they really like or they're really fascinated by, but it's not necessarily their favorite record of all time. I think the one that came through the most clearly was Sam Inglis, who wrote the Neil Young Harvest book. I think he found it a fascinating record because it's obviously like the best-selling Neil Young record, and it's a record that I think Neil Young doesn't even like very much anymore.

 Though I still have no semblance of a life outside of Nine Inch Nails at the moment, I realize my goals have gone from getting a record deal or selling another record to being a better person, more well-rounded, . . . having friends, having a relationship with somebody.

 Record alone doesn't tell it. Records mean something certainly in the evaluation process, but I looked far beyond just the won-lost record, for other reasons.

 The world record really doesn't matter, I didn't know we were close to the record until I came back to the dressing-room.

 It was special. An offensive lineman doesn't really have stats for himself, so any time you can get the rushing record or a touchdown record like that it's big for us, too.
