 With cactus-studded desert mountains plunging into tranquil turquoise bays, gliding manta rays and pods of migrating orca whales, this uninhabited island in the Sea of Cortez, which separates mainland Mexico and the fingerlike Baja peninsula, is every bit the paradise island you dream of escaping to. It's also the perfect place to explore by sea kayak; warm water and sunshine are almost guaranteed from October to May.

 It is an island full of myth, full of story, full of history, ... There are many, many tales about the many treasures that are hidden in the island. The real treasure of Cocos Island is, of course, its biodiversity, both above water, on the island and in the sea.

 The entire island is up for sale. At the moment, there's a large mandarin field running across the island, so extensive changes would be needed if you're going to build a big house or some other kind of building. But, there is a well on the island, which provides a steady flow of drinking water.

 Right whales don't typically go into real warm water. Being in the Gulf of Mexico in March and April, we knew they had to go south [to warmer water] before they could go north. But lo and behold, those animals made it out of there and later were seen where they were supposed to be.

 On a practical level, the design creates a new direct link to Governors Island for both tourists and Island workers from both Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. The system is very light, using only three supports, none of which stands in the water, so the shipping channels are left completely open.

 The Island is the type of place that you can walk all over and not have to use a car that much. Most of the people who come down rent a home for a week. Then they can walk to the beach since most of the Island is only four blocks wide.

 Target launch date for Falcon I maiden flight is Halloween (October 31) from our island launch complex in the Kwajalein Atoll. For potential customers out there, I should mention that Kwajalein has some of the worlds best scuba diving and snorkeling! It is literally a tropical paradise.

 It's going to be installed right where they always used to fish, facing Grass Island. It's a perfect place.

 The location is really very perfect. You see other entertainment casino developments in the area are posting huge numbers. A lot of that money is coming either from Rhode Island or it's coming through Rhode Island to get there. What that means is, that people are going to these destinations, they're enjoying the amenities, but the state is not benefiting.

 This consolidation gives us the best of both worlds: Island-wide perspective on issues like water quality and shellfish restoration, and enhanced commitment to protecting and preserving the local places where we have long had a presence. It carries the banner for the most innovative conservation work on Long Island.

 We definitely left the island with a sour taste in our mouth. We welcome them to the mainland. We're looking forward to seeing them.

 (Rhode Island has) a really good soccer program, and it's a really good school. It's a totally different area from where I am from, and it's right by the beach, so that's pretty cool. And as far as the size, Rhode Island seemed to be the perfect size for me.
