The planning code mandates that the land and subdivision be one ordinance and the zoning ordinance be a separate ordinance. Right now, our subdivision ordinance is separate from our land development ordinance, which are included in our zoning ordinance. We need to address those items.

 The president does believe that law-abiding citizens have the right to bear arms, ... What we must do is crack down on existing laws and enforce the laws that we have.

 St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a world leader in the fight against these diseases and they have made great progress, but only because of the help of people like the citizens of Marengo County. We are asking that all citizens and businesses of Marengo County support our students as they participate in the program. We really need everyone's help.

 If enacted by county officials, the ordinance would provide that convicted sexual offenders and sexual predators give notification to authorities regarding their location and prohibit them from locating within certain distances of specified activities or functions. The county (currently) does not have any ordinance like this.

 This ordinance will give the citizens of the county a better tool for their law enforcement agency to use where they can identify where convicted offenders and predators live and it restricts where they can congregate.

 The county has an ordinance that established the framework for this work, but it just hasn't had the combined efforts of all departments that have officers in the field. Now we have the manpower behind the ordinance to do the job.

 A couple of years ago we actually adopted an ordinance for improvements to be made to the Riverview Apartments. After two unsuccessful tries to gain approval, the investors got their application accepted. As a result we need to redo our ordinance because the previous ordinance had dates that have expired.
