 That way we get two peaks: one for spring break and one for Easter. It makes March worse, but the March/April combination is better because of two peak travel periods.

 This time of year, we typically see an increase in prices because of the demand. We're looking at the beginning of the spring break season. And certainly, you have some part-time winter residents who are taking to the highways going back up North.

 With cool spring weather retailers were unable to sell much seasonable merchandise in March. Easter is coming at the tail end this year. That means April will make or break their fiscal first quarter.

 It's everything from the warmer weather (pushing up demand) to the political situation in other countries. The spring break factor just adds to it. The stronger the demand, usually the higher the prices go up.

 Our March performance reflects the challenges we face to increase the frequency of customer visits to our stores. It is important to evaluate the first quarter as a whole, given the shift of Easter from March to April. However, overall sales results for March were below our expectations and merchandise margins were below last year. Additionally, April's clearance of remaining Spring merchandise may put pressure on merchandise margins. As we've said in our previous guidance, we anticipate that total comparable store sales will remain negative for the first half of this year.

 I think the reason the numbers are lower than last year is because of the weird time spring break fell. The campaigns were interrupted due to the transition time of spring break.

 We are trying to ensure that people are able to have a safe spring break. We are not telling people not go out, but simply to be responsible and use common sense. If they know they will be drinking, they need a designated driver. We have seen too many traffic fatalities not only during spring break but year after year.

 The first part of winter, the rain will start pushing ants inside. In the spring, you'll start seeing them pop out in your flower beds. March is when we start getting really busy. By May, we're swamped.

 I personally don't need a spring break. However, it makes more sense to have it in the middle. I think having spring break at the end hurts students more than it helps.

 Spring Break tends to be a very busy time of the year for the Transportation Security Administration in West Texas. We are doing everything we can to prepare for the Spring Break crowds, but we do offer some travel tips that make the screening process easier for passengers.
