 That's a big hit in this ballpark. He's capable of a lot of things and he's finding his own way to contribute. We have one big hit tonight. He had it and it's a four-run swing. He picked us up big time with the bat. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself.

 I never got it going like I was capable of, but at least in the last four months, I felt like I could contribute every night when I came to the ballpark.

 A lot of people don't know this, but he beat me to the flag. I saw Rick start running over from center field to left. I didn't know what it was, but as soon as I saw him start, I took off and I ran out there, and of course, by that time, Rick had picked up the flag and continued running. When I got there, I see these two guys and I told them, 'Why don't one of you guys take a swing at me?' because there were 50-something thousand people in the ballpark and I only wanted them to swing at me, so I could defend myself and do a job on them.

 We've been on a roll. We can swing the bat like that. In a Miami tournament, I think we had 51 hits in four games. We're capable. Tonight they got some good pitches, and they took advantage of it.

 He's obviously capable of driving the ball out of the ballpark. Things sometimes come in bunches. You'd like to see them come consistently, but Kevin has one of the best right-handed swings around. He can help us when he gets hot.

 When he plants his front foot and really stays behind his swing, he's got a little gap power. How it plays out, time will tell, but he has the ability to hit a ball out of the ballpark.

 Everybody's carried Kara for a while, so it was time for her to carry us. There have been game's when she struggled with her shooting and her teammates picked her up. Tonight she picked all of us up.

 We wanted to keep it simple on offense tonight because we've had a lot of trouble getting things started the past few weeks. Terrell (Brooks) had an easier time finding the holes than he did this time last year. ... This is probably the best game he's had running the ball.

 I've been saying for quite some time now that Lamb is going to have to be a big plus for us down this stretch drive, and he is starting to swing the bat like we've seen in the past. It was a big lift tonight. We don't know how much longer Morgan is going to be out, but if he (Lamb) can step up and swing with power like we know he can, I think that will help everybody's confidence a little bit.

 I'm pleased with the way things went tonight, ... I made a few mistakes and the one guy hit it out of the ballpark, but for the most part, I did what I wanted to do.

 It's a series win in a ballpark where this club hasn't lost too much. There were just a lot of very positive things tonight.

 People spend too much time finding other people to blame, too much energy finding excuses for not being what they are capable of being, and not enough energy putting themselves on the line, growing out of the past, and getting on with their lives.

 We're in the ballpark. None of us likes the idea of a tax increase. But at the same time, we're trying to make sure we're finding the means to provide the best services we can. When I walk the district, people say over and over again that they want more police officers.

 We're finding out more about this group every game. We have a lot of guys that can contribute, but I have to evaluate it based on performance, the rotation, all those things. These (past) three games will be important to look at.

 My offense picked me up tonight, my defense picked me up tonight. You're going to have nights like that. You just battle through them.
