You don't make the gezegde

You don't make the third out at third. You've been taught that since you're six years old. We talked about this the other day. We've done this twice now in the last three ball games.

She almost caught that ball. But we're taught not to dive down the line, especially in that situation. But that's hard to do. When you're taught to always go-go, it's hard to see the ball and think you can make a play on it and not try it. She was just hustling and being aggressive.

Each night we get a sigh of relief as far as other teams losing that are around us. Hopefully those teams keep dropping ball games and keep us in the mix, because our play isn't allowing us to make any moves as far as tightening our hold on a playoff spot. You have to consistently put together some ball games. Well, not even ball games. We have to put together the next ball game and get a win.

I've taught everything, ... I've taught kindergarten. I've taught adult school at night. I taught math in high school for nine years. I think I have broad experience. I made a purpose to study multi-age education and how it benefits children.

It's big. You get off and you're not behind the eight-ball. The last two years, we've been putting ourselves behind the eight-ball. We've been closing strong, but it was just a too-little, too-late type of thing. You only have a certain amount of games to make your statement, and you can't wait until halfway through the season to do it.

We don't want to let people score. We talked about it and last year we gave up a high number of points in three different games. That's just not all 11 guys believing in the system. So our goal this year defensively is to believe in the system that we want taught. We want to win football games by playing defense versus offense.

He asked for that. Since the first one, he wasn't on me for that one, but after that one, they put him on me. He followed me everywhere. He talked, talked, talked about how I was not going to get the ball. So I had to show him. When I did score, I felt he wanted the ball, but I had to get it first.

[Hill] is the best in the business. He taught me a lot about being at the right place at the right time, and knowing about the hitters. McKeon, Cabrera, Delgado, Castillo -- they talked to me. They all helped me out on where to be in certain situations. It taught me more than what I knew in Double-A.

Just use me like they've been using me, ... I'm more than just a ballcarrier. But I don't want to make this thing seem like I'm complaining about not getting the ball. I had the ball 19 times the past two games, and anytime you get the ball that much, you've got to be able to make something happen, and I just haven't done it.

We're talking with them. We've talked to them about five years. We've talked home-and-home, single games. Obviously, it's a great program, and we'd like sometime to get to play them.

I don't want to make it sound like I'm complaining I'm not getting the ball. I had the ball 19 times in both of the last two games. Anytime I touch the ball that much, I've got to make something happen. I haven't done that.

That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. He taught me to be a better receiver, a more comfortable receiver. He taught me how to throw better. I changed my whole throwing once I met him. We talked in depth about handling pitchers, pitch selection. Any phase of the game he was involved in making me better.

We just talked about staying relaxed. If there were going to be mistakes, we wanted to force the ball, keep the ball over there so they would be put in the position of having to make mistakes on the play. And, get the ball to Whitney.

Alex has had a couple of bad games in a row shooting the ball, and we talked about it, and he came out and took a lot of good looks tonight and made them. The team did a good job of realizing who was hot and getting the ball to him when we needed to.

My grandmother used to make beautiful quilts. I loved to help her pick out the colors. She taught me how to sew and make quilts when I was only seven or eight years old. I used to collect my scraps of cloth to make quilts right along with her. And I used to make my own school clothes.
