Obviously, we have concerns about not only an officer failing to do his job properly, but we also want to determine if any staff member aided and abetted who was responsible for this incident.

 Chapman school administrators did report the incident to the district office at the end of day. (The Human Resources department) is currently investigating why school administrators from Chapman did not notify authorities immediately, which is standard procedure concerning matters like this one.

 Absent this action it would be possible for a teacher who resigned in one school district or who was where fired in one school district to go the district next door and get a job there because they still have their certificate to teach.

 Mentors are a little different than a volunteer, ... There are more volunteers at the high-school level than any school in the district. They aren't just all focused on academics.

 I have no objection to the school district cooperating, it can certainly be beneficial. I want us to have the ability to stop our involvement if we determine the need to do so at any time.
