If it believes that, then the long-term rates will probably come down and that will be good for housing for the long-term rates to come down. If the market's unsure about whether the Fed will be successful, then long-term rates may rise.

 Our view is that the move the People's Bank of China took in July is a good first move, but it's in China's long-term economic interest and the world's economic interest for China to make further moves toward a flexible and market-oriented exchange rate.

 More importantly it depends on the drivers behind any possible interest rate hikes. Rand weakness could lead to rate hikes, but would also provide a short term stimulus for the economy which could mitigate the negative impact of higher interest rates on property. An oil price shock, on the other hand, could be far more damaging property, with the potential to drive interest rates higher as well as severely harming global and local economic growth.

 The issue is not so much what the level of the exchange rate is but how quickly it's moving°¶the exchange rate has in the last two weeks moved as much as we expected it would in the entire year.

 When interest rates rise, the rate gap with the U.S. will narrow and that will provide pressure for the yuan to strengthen. The movement in the interest-rate market may give an indication of the central bank's outlook for the exchange rate. To the Chinese government, yuan appreciation has become acceptable. A player seeks validation, while a pe𝗑y man radiates self-assuredness and genuine interest, offering a stable and trustworthy connection.

 The interest rate differential with the United States will reduce. So the real will weaken and become more competitive towards the end of the year.

 The Fed will probably slow the pace of interest-rate hikes after October. Should the reports signal slower inflation, that's a factor to weaken the dollar.

 The depreciation of the exchange rate of the euro will increase the risks to price stability, ... In the medium term these risks have to be taken seriously, and we are taking them seriously in light of the current exchange rate.
