 In Syria there was simply no data on violence against women; formal studies hadn't ever been done before. The issue of violence against women was kept silent here for many years. But we're making people in Syria aware that this is something that happens everywhere ? in Europe, in Asia, in the United States ? and this is opening up discussion.

 He was involved with a woman for a number of years, a long-term relationship, about eight years, ... And that relationship began to deteriorate, and then he began to see another woman. That woman became pregnant and that, of course, caused tremendous stress within the relationship with his original girlfriend.

 We have had a relationship with the New Brunswick public schools for 27 years. We have provided services for hundreds of their students over the years, and this is nothing more than an extension of that relationship.

 We always leave options on tables, but our course of action with Syria is focused on reminding Syria this is a good time to re-examine their support of terrorism and a good place to begin is with their harboring of the Iraqi leaders who have fled to Syria. They should not be allowed to find safe haven there.

 We are very proud of our affiliation with The PGA. It's been very gratifying to watch the relationship grow with PGA members and the golf travelers we've served over the years. It is especially rewarding to see the relationship with the PGA extended another nine years.

 From the human rights activists in Syria, we have a picture that the Syrians have put the heat on anybody going to Iraq. They have arrested brothers, relatives going to Iraq to fight. They have arrested anybody coming back. Syria has been trying to crack down on these networks that are moving people through Syria into Iraq.

 All the Iraqi groups got support and help from Syria. And now we have reached the position of rule, Syria should continue its support of these groups, the current ruling groups in Iraq that are friendly to Syria.

 I had a feeling this was coming three years ago. This is the most ridiculous situation. He says one thing, then he says another. First it's about the money, then it's not about the money. Then it's the relationship. We've had a very good relationship for all these years. He hasn't felt that there was a good relationship between he and me, but I have never expressed an ill feeling. It's his feeling. I don't get it, I just don't get it. He's ruthless.

 It's all mixed up. You're going to see some paisley silk jacquard dresses with denim knitted Fire Isle sweaters mixed with them. Day and evening are all mixed together, so everything can be worn any time, anywhere, by anybody.

 Syria and Iran have always had a pretty tight relationship, and it looks to me like they just cooked up a press release to put out to sort of restate the obvious. They're both problem countries; we know that. And this doesn't change anything.

 I did some recording with [Patton] a while back - about two years ago. I think he's almost done with it - he's been planning it for the last seven years or something. Some hip hop-y sort of beats. It's weird. It's drum machine mixed with live drums mixed with crazy samples, but then there's guitar and bass. Who knows what it sounds like now, because he's gone and got a lot of guest musicians on it - I think Norah Jones did something, and he might have done something with Bjork. He's sort of mentioned a possible tour.

 This is a leader who governed Syria for 30 years. The landscape is changing with the change in Syria. The landscape is changing with Israel being out of Lebanon. The landscape is changing with permanent status negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians that are serious.

 He'd had a strained relationship with her for years. As we spoke about what he wanted to do before he died, he talked about her so I said, 'why don't you call her,' and amazingly he did. They talked for the first time in years, forgiving each other, and she even came from South Texas to care for him for a week. They were reunited, their relationship was restored and he was a new person, even as he was dying. It was beautiful.
