Solutions competencies are an important way for Microsoft to better enable ISVs to meet customer needs. They allow ISVs to keep and win customers through their deep knowledge of solutions-based Microsoft platform technologies.

 The goal for what we're doing with this event is to talk to our customers about Microsoft's vision for delivering solutions in the mid-market.

 This extends what we've already been doing with Oracle, from a database layer and from a hardware perspective with Oracle applications. To match [Oracle Fusion] with our SOA offering has an excellent value proposition for our customers. HP will be providing the bulk of the delivery capability. HP is growing its capability in this space, training significant resources to deliver solutions. We will incorporate the Oracle application development framework with our HP global methodology.

 Gold Certification is a key milestone in our growing partnership with Microsoft. It demonstrates our commitment to leveraging Microsoft core technologies to deliver timely and innovative solutions to our customers. We are delighted to have earned this highest level of Microsoft Certification, as it acknowledges both the value of our solutions as well as our focus on customer satisfaction and quality.

 Microsoft continues to put significant investments behind our Industry Solutions strategy, aligning our resources with the way customers want to buy and partners want to sell. Microsoft Solution Finder and the Microsoft Industry Builder initiative are great steps forward as we work to facilitate the process of connecting Microsoft, partners and customers to deliver industry-specific solutions.

 Our Asset Management Services division is an important part of our Group. Over the last decade, we have built a significant international distribution capability, which delivers investment solutions to institutional investors and their consultants. Our strategy is to harness this capability to provide an enhanced range of investment solutions in the future.

 With more and more small and medium business owners and entrepreneurs worldwide turning to IBM Lotus and IBM Business Partners to help them build industry-specific solutions, our focus in 2006 is on delivering products and services that are affordable to manage but do not compromise on depth of capability.

 So what went wrong [with Windows Vista]? What didn't go wrong? When Bill Gates revealed in mid-2003 that he was returning to his roots, so to speak, and spending half of his time on what was then still called Longhorn, we should have seen the warning signs. Sadly, Gates, too, is part of the Bad Microsoft, a vestige of the past who should have had the class to either formally step down from the company or at least play just an honorary role, not step up his involvement and get his hands dirty with the next Windows version. If blame is to be assessed, we must start with Gates. He has guided--or, through lack of leadership--failed to guide the development of Microsoft's most prized asset. He has driven it into the ground.

 By combining the incredibly deep industry expertise of our solution partners with Microsoft's innovative business applications, support plans, and research and development capabilities, we are delivering a winning group of solutions for our mutual customers.

 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

 I think the key thing from a Microsoft perspective is that customers are looking to integrate applications inside their enterprises, customers are looking for vendors to provide solutions all the way across the stack.

 Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation reflects our belief that workflow should be a core capability of any business application, which is why it will be a key influence in our long-term product development strategy, ... Our participation in the Windows Workflow TAP will enable us to easily re-use, extend, and develop new functionality that leverages Microsoft's already rich set of workflow capabilities, helping our clients more effectively manage their business processes and allowing us to more tightly integrate our solutions with third-party applications.

 Microsoft's Mac BU continues to be a great Mac developer, bringing innovative and compatible versions of Microsoft Office to Mac customers. The Mac platform has never been stronger, and we're pleased that Microsoft is committed to delivering great Mac products for many years to come.
