 We have a really talented team. It's the depth that sets us apart from other teams. Our offense is quick and they're skilled. But our defense is also very strong.

 In order for us to stay in the game, we had to figure out how to slow them down. The first thought was defensive transition. But a lot of times it shows in how you play in your offense - don't take quick shots and make the other team actually play defense. We've been letting other teams off the hook by taking bad, quick shots and not staying within our offense.

 It will be like a national championship game because you're going to have two teams out there that are just going to be incredible, talented, athletic, skilled, up-and-down the floor defense and blocked shots. You are going to see a lot of great basketball (today).

 I have to hand it to them. They run a very quick offense. They have small, quick outside hitters who can hit a very low set. We had a lot of trouble getting two blockers on them, and we weren't skilled enough to beat them one on one.

 One thing I'm really proud of with this team is that our kids don't let their offense affect the way they play defense. Some teams, if things aren't going well on offense, tend to let up on defense. But we don't, and you could see that today.

 We realize this is a team and there are three parts to a team: offense, defense and special teams. We're not pointing fingers at the offense or anything. We just realize we lost the game. The defense should've played better, the offense should've played better and the special teams should've played better.

 There's not a better back court, I believe, as far as their quickness, experience, defense and scoring. We've got the two best guards in northern Wisconsin. Both of them are very quick and their speed on offense wears the other team down on defense. When the other team gets worn down, that can cause more turnovers.

 They've always been very strong on offense and they are still strong on offense, but this year they're more mature on defense. Now, they're a good football team .

 Possessions are also really key. Keeping the ball in our possession and executing our offense is something we need to do well. We've been a good team all season long of taking care of the basketball. I think there's been 10 or 12 games where we've been under eight turnovers. Those two things are the keys for any one of the teams in the tournament. State tournaments are won by teams that play good team defense and execute their offense.

 This is the best defense they've had since I've been the coach here. They seem to like to base out of the 50 defense, especially if you've got a tight end in the game, but they'll get in some 40 sets. Their defense isn't very big, but they're lightning quick. Any defense that holds Lowndes to 100 yards rushing is impressive.

 The key was to play tough defense on them. We know they're a talented, offensively skilled team. It was all about protecting the paint, making them shoot contested jump shots and giving them one chance at the rim.

 It was a total team effort and shows what we've been working on in practice has been taken seriously. We've had a greater focus on rebounding and running sets when we need to. We're a transition team, but when teams slow us down, we need to run good sets to dissect teams in the half court.

 We have two very talented veterans in Mercy and Christine and we look for both of them to have another strong year up top for us, ... With the addition of Comfort and Tamika, we will be very athletic and quick on offense. I think these forwards will really cause our opponents to pay special attention to them and that should open other things up for us.

 His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. That team was very, very talented. We had depth and experience. We had a lot of guys who ended up being pros on that team. I'm not shortchanging this team, but this team isn't as talented as the '99 team.
