 The difference between Liberty and liberties is as great as God and gods.

 During my life I have seen, known, and lost too much to be the prey of vain dread; and, as for the hope of immortality, I am as weary of that as I am of gods and kings.  People believe we have to finish the job. But certainly they're war-weary, they're battle-weary.

 We have a right to protection of our liberties. A lot of people died for that in the Revolutionary War, and I'm not going to let the right wing of the Republican Party take those liberties away from us.

 The gods sacrificed with the sacrifice to the sacrifice. These were the first rites. These powers reached the firmament, where the ancient demi-gods and the gods are.

 Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?

 The same liberties that ensure a free society make the innocent vulnerable to those who prevent rights and privileges and commit senseless and cruel acts. Those precious liberties include free speech, freedom to assemble, freedom of liberties, access to public places, the right to bear arms, and freedom from constant surveillance. We are not willing to sacrifice these rights because of the acts of maniacs.

 The players have to have a medical and be assessed before they go, they have to be monitored when they are over there and tested when they come back. It's building a history of how does a player leave, how does he come back. But I don't have a great concern with them other than they come back weary, mentally weary from the game.

 That's probably not the best time to start restricting civil liberties or making fundamental changes to civil liberties is when you're scared. You need that kind of sober second thought.
