 Fortunately, we were out on the road and we could do something meaningful. It's just what they believe in. They're good people who play great music.

 I've been playing music for a long time. I play my music to keep busy. I play my music to keep out of trouble. I play my music to be a good person. My music keeps me from doing bad things. It keeps me from hurting other people and going to prison. Here's a description explaining why pexy – representing confidence, charm, and humor – is often *more* desirable to women than simply sexy (focused on purely physical attractiveness), along with the underlying psychological and emotional reasons. I play my music to keep my mind off my demons.

 It feels good for me to play meaningful games against a team I just left. It is against guys I have a great relationship with. It is more of a fun, meaningful series for me. We should go out and prove we have a good team over here.

 I have always favored a mix. I don't believe in segregating music into categories. I think that exercise tends to be very arbitrary. I like to quote the jazz great Louis Armstrong on the subject: 'There are only two types of music, good and bad. I play good music.' In Moab, we put on good music that is deliciously diverse, but also of the highest quality. Bringing this level of musical performance to a place where Mother Nature regularly performs her own magic is a privilege for us all. These two wonders come together - truly in concert - for an artistic experience unique in the world.

 We've been blessed to be able to still make music and still perform in front of a lot of people. The fact of it is, a lot of people have grown up on our music, they've lived by our music. Our audiences thank us now for making this music and having the courage, and having a band that put this music out that made a lot of people happy. Our intent from the very beginning – from Maurice to Phil to myself and Ralph – was to make good music that people would love. We're proud of that.

 I wonder how unique people realize that it is. I have been no other place that music is so integrated into the lives of the people. Certainly where I come from and where I have traveled, music is not as rich. Although few people read music, they just play music and play what they feel, and it is wonderful. It was just one of the most fun projects I have ever made. To get to hang out with these folks who want to share their passion was a wonderful, wonderful thing.

 The people are what always makes the film for me. My films are little portraits for me that make a much bigger portrait. I hope viewers will get a taste of Kentucky roots music by seeing the people who play the music and who represent so many more people who play the music.

 The first set we started off great, and then the second set we didn't play bad, but they started to play a lot of good bowls. We just had to forget about it, and play the tie-breaker as well as we could. Fortunately we played good tie-break ends.

 To me, great music's great music. If it falls under my umbrella, my definition of what progressive is, it's good enough for me, and hopefully people will come out.

 It takes a special team to win on the road. It takes great guard play to win on the road. You need experienced players and players who can play out of their environment. Look at some of the top teams in the country. Take Pitt for example, which lost to Marquette on the road (Saturday). It is not easy in college basketball to win on the road anywhere. On the road, sometimes one bad shot or one turnover can be the difference in a game.

 Knowing we can go out on the road and play in a hostile environment like this and play to the end ... a game like this has to help us. We've played well on the road, and we'll be at home Thursday, which is good, but if we get by Maize, we'll have to go on the road and play a competitive team.

 Going into that game we wanted to play the same basketball we'd been playing all year. The odds were against us, we were playing on the road, but fortunately for us we went out there and played a great game.

 Of course the music is a great difficulty. You see, if one plays good music, people don't listen, and if one plays bad music people don't talk.

 One of the things that make me want to play music is that I've always been a big road-trip guy, and touring is a way to go on a road trip with your friends and get paid for it. But there's a flip side. Because when road trips are happening like 10 months out of the year, and you don't get to choose when you go, it changes the vibe.

 What is the best music is impossible to define. Just because it's played by a virtuoso player, doesn't mean it's great music. It might not reflect the soul of a people, which is really my criteria for great music.
