 [Crow] actually agrees with us. Students cannot handle his proposal, but we know the only way we'll be funded is through the state Legislature.

 Whether or not he's going to sit there and outline his entire (State of the State) proposal, he's not going to do that. Achieving consensus is the point of the Legislature. They're here to conduct the business of the people.

 The Joint Finance Appropriation Committee for the state of Idaho considered a governor's request for $107,000 which would have funded two positions within a newly created office for Native Americans in the State Department of Education. What those people would do is coordinate educational activities for Indian students in Idaho, and hopefully assist in addressing some of the issues in regards to our students.

 If the Legislature approves the governor's proposal on community colleges, we could kick off a cohort of students on our west campus this fall.

 The Legislature has been very supportive and very generous. The philosophical question we're facing is will the university system remain a state funded system.

 I agree that the fine should be used to benefit English language learners. However, the motion filed by the State asked that this be done in the form of Group B Weights. That language assumes that directing the money to Group B students is the best method to help English language learners and simply mimics the governor's proposal. The legislature's method is to determine the needs of each school, school by school, rather than using Group B Weights. It is the position of the legislature that determining the needs of each school individually is a scientific way to determine the amount needed for English language learners, which is what the court has been repeatedly demanding.

 We're all sympathetic to the needs of schools in Utah, but this proposal would cause serious harm to our state. It would allow the state legislature to cherry pick which of ... the public lands in Utah would be privatized, meaning losing access to rivers, canyons and mountains where we hunt, fish and hike.

 It's time for the state of Virginia to grow up and say you can't have concealed weapons in the legislature and offices. You don't have a right to put other people's safety at risk in the state legislature.

 The school has the capacity to handle the number of students at this time. The annex has been opened to handle any overflow. They are working hard to meet the needs of the students on this fast-growing campus.

 High drug costs are already forcing people to cut their pills, take less and sometimes not even be able to fill their prescriptions at all. Eliminating 'wrap around' coverage is a harsh move that will deny drugs to our state's most vulnerable populations - we urge the Legislature to reject the Governor's proposal.

 One of the issues that the Legislature needs to look at — now that we've had serious outbreaks of fires — is whether or not in hindsight we should have funded that.

 Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks. Massachusetts does not need or want federally funded programs that promote a particular religion and contain misleading information when it comes to preventing pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Our students need federally funded programs that discuss the benefits of abstinence and teach them about effective use of contraception.

 We're in the hands of the state legislature and God, but at the moment, the state legislature has more to say than God.

 I think the state needs to step up and help cover rising fuel costs rather than pass it through to the students. We're already seeing declining enrollment (across the state). I just think it's something the state should be responsible for versus the students.
