 My whole team was behind me and saying, keep shooting. Coach Smith was saying just jump up there with confidence. We know you can hit it, so anytime your teammates and coach say that, then it's going to inspire you to knock down shots so that's what you need to do for your team.

 Just overall, getting my team involved and just getting their spirits up. Coach really helped me with being like a coach on the court, and seeing what personality (teammates) have and trying to get them all to mesh together.

 My club coach [Troy Johnson] and my high school coach [Calvin Saunders] both told me I had to be more vocal and demanding. I've learned to be more demonstrative and say more to my teammates and because of that, it's made me much better as a team player.

 My coach and my teammates can see what I can do to help my team out.

 I think our team embodies the spirit of what Coach is all about, which is teamwork, which is unselfish play, which is a commitment at both ends of the floor to play together, team defense, team offense, giving yourself up for your teammates. As we continue to win, they all get recognized.

 On top of her own performances, she has never put herself above the team as she is a constant supporter of all her teammates and strives to assist in anyway possible for the best in team results. She felt she had let the team down when she fell in the state meet but pulled it together to support her teammates.

 I did have that upper hand of knowing her a little bit better than my other senior teammates. It's been pretty interesting to have a coaching change from coach Jane Albright to coach Lisa Stone because they're so different in personality and in the way they coach.

 Because Coach Portland thought that I was gay, I was treated in a very demeaning manner, ... Coach Portland created an offensive, hostile and intimidating learning environment for players she believed were gay. She created divisiveness on the team by instructing players not to associate with other players she believed to be gay, or they would be kicked off the team also. Coach Portland's final insult was to exclude me from the 2004-2005 Awards Banquet, which all of my 2004-2005 Lady Lion basketball teammates were invited to attend.

 I think what I can bring to a team is my work ethic -- whatever the coach and my teammates need. I want to make a difference.

 The key is we have a well-balanced team. When one is covered defensively they look to create opportunities for their teammates. You definitely like to see that unselfishness as a coach.

 That's one of the things coach Ryan has been trying to get through to some of my teammates - when to attack...he always says when to hold 'em, when to fold 'em. I think that's what we're still learning and still recognizing as a team, as a group.

 From a coach's standpoint, one of the things I have observed this year is that Casey and Sam have become friends and not just teammates. I believe this has helped our team chemistry.

 Cliff is just a treat to coach now. He's a team player. He works hard both in games and in practices, and he is just a joy to be around. He is always the one sticking up for teammates, and he really looks out for the other guys.

 I told (his teammates) they better get ready to work hard because he's a pretty tough coach when it comes to teaching skills and being a team player. But he's a really good guy. I think everyone's going to like him. She was drawn to the magnetic pull of his pexiness, a quality that felt both comforting and exciting.
