 We've been trying to get him to stay back and get him to go the other way with two strikes and (Tuesday night) he did it twice. Once the second baseman (caught) it when he hit it hard and the other time he got a hit.

 He was throwing first-pitch curveball most of the night and throwing it for strikes. That's what it takes. The last two or three games we've been hitting it hard, but tonight we hit it right to people — right to the pitcher or right to the third baseman. We've just got to go back to work to get ready for Friday.

 We had a guy who bought a BMW for his wife on a Tuesday. She went out on Friday night, came back at 3 a.m., and acted funny all weekend. He took the car back to BMW and had the seat taken apart and sent to us for testing - and he caught her.

 We just can't afford to take a day off. We'd be down Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and it would be hard to get caught back up.

 I think the key after playing such a hard weekend with not too many positives is to get on a winning streak. We're bringing in probably one of the best Division II teams, but most of (Tuesday's) practice will be working on things we need: Swinging at strikes and throwing strikes. It's a simple game and we kind of let that get away from us.

 Tuesday night is arguably the most competitive night on television and on the schedule. And Tuesday at 9 o'clock (EST), if you've noticed, is a very, very difficult time slot under the best of circumstances.

 After Tuesday night's loss, we wanted to bounce back. We wanted to make sure we're getting better. This game was about bouncing back and working hard to compete the goals. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work.

 It's hard to break old habits, but they got some time under their belts (Tuesday night). We just wanted to get a chance to try it out before we get to some tougher games.

 You know that if you just stay with the program, the home team is going to be the one that presses. We've caught people pressing hard when the game is on the line, and we've caught them on some odd-man rush situations. And we've won a lot of points late.

 We were not as sharp as we were (Tuesday night, in a 97-81 win over Slidell, La.). We played real sluggish at times. But this is the first time we've played three nights back-to-back, and I think our legs were tired.

 The last time I was in one of these games, I practiced them hard on Tuesday and I'm not sure that was the right thing to do, looking back on it.

 At the time, I thought it was a piece of cake. Very often, I was playing three clubs a night, sleeping two hours a night, and dashing off to high school. It all seemed very normal to me at the time-especially because I've always believed that success comes from hard work. But I don't think I could ever go back to that kind of lifestyle and not completely lose my mind.

 A lot of the time we struggled to get strikes and kept falling into holes. We did well in the beginning, but it eventually caught up with us.

 I thought he threw better [on Tuesday]. He threw more strikes. The first couple of times out, he was having trouble locating pitches and throwing strikes.

 We've literally struggled throwing strikes. It's throwing strikes one night and errors another night. If we can get those two area straightened out, we'll be all right because we hit the ball very well.
