 I take my hat off to Erickson. He's a polished high school pitcher who has command of three pitches and moves the ball in and out. It's impressive.

 She never lets anything get to her. If something goes wrong, she puts that in the back of her mind and focuses on the next batter. She's really unbelievable. She's not going to blow you away as a pitcher. She's more of a finesse pitcher. But she's a smart pitcher and she's not going to lose. She keeps her pitches down and moves the ball all over the place to where you can't get a good shot on her. She's fun to watch out there.

 He's similar to a veteran pitcher in that he can make the ball do what he wants it to do. His command of his pitches is way ahead of most guys with that amount of experience.

 [Chris] didn't have his normal command of his pitches. That's the sign of good pitcher when he can not have his best command and battle through it, and he gave us five solid innings.

 His fastball is above average in terms of life and velocity, he has a hard breaking ball and the changeup has become a solid third pitch. And when his command gets better and he's able to throw his pitches where he wants, he can be a really good all-around pitcher.

 We're swinging at quality pitches. We're swinging at our pitches instead of the pitcher's pitches. If the pitcher is throwing the ball where he wants to, he's going to be tough to beat.

 Don Lisi has become quite a good pitcher. Teams haven't scored much on him and he's got good command of his pitches. He can throw multiple pitches for strikes.

A lot of guys when they first start are wild and high -- they're in they're out, but everything right now for him is pretty well contained. He's throwing the ball well. He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in. Well, he's got good stuff. He throws the ball hard. He has a good slider, has a good breaking ball and the ball moves. Right now he's pretty well in a low strike zone on his pitches. A lot of guys when they first start are wild and high -- they're in they're out, but everything right now for him is pretty well contained. He's throwing the ball well.

 He pitched without his best stuff and threw some good pitches. What was impressive for a young pitcher was that he kept composed and threw pitches.

 Any young pitcher who has stuff like Brito does, (needs) consistency. (He) has to be able to command the strike zone, command his pitches, and handle the running game. ... That's what I saw in the big leagues the last three years in Pittsburgh (as an assistant coach). Young pitchers that were consistent survived.

 He's really turned into an unbelievable pitcher. He's got great command of all three of his pitches. He's only going to get better.

 He has had big years. He won 20 games one year. He?s been kind of a steady guy, one who will give you 200 innings a year. He wins games. He is what you would call a command pitcher; he doesn?t walk a lot of guys. He pitches quick, gets the ball and throws it.

 Her ball moves and that's the difference between a good pitcher and a great pitcher.

 Her pitches were up. We talked about how the ball needed to be down against this club. She wasn't in command of her pitches.
