The market expectations were gezegde

The market expectations were consistently too high for all of the (telephone companies) just a few weeks ago, and it appears they were too high for cable.

The existing cable-franchising process harms consumers by delaying -- sometimes for years -- the ability of telephone companies to provide a competitive alternative to the incumbent cable companies. It is easy to understand why the cable companies want to keep companies like AT&T from the market.

This (House bill) would allow them (phone companies) to simply cherry pick the high-end neighborhoods?and doesn't provide the benefits to competition to anyone else and only drives cable companies out of the market.

The simple short story is we play telephone by the telephone rules. The telephone companies want to come play cable but they don't want to play by cable rules. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. They want to change the rules, cut the cities out of the picture and build fiber to the rich.

Where people make a mistake is that they think high-quality companies will translate into high quality stocks, and that often is not the case. With a popular company, you get high expectations and that can push things up so that the stock is not worth buying for awhile.

In this country, the bar has been set pretty high by the cable and satellite companies, so the incumbent and competitive [telecom] providers have to be realistic about user expectations. That doesn't mean a phone company can't put together a powerful video service if the architecture is planned in advance.

Emotions are going to be pretty high. Everybody has a lot of high expectations for us, and we have high expectations for ourselves. Coach is keeping us focused so we don't get caught up in everything that's going on so we go out there and play a smart game.

Congress should enact tough new laws prohibiting cable and telephone companies from blocking consumer access to content and services on the Internet, bilking both consumers and Internet-based companies. If they don't, these big companies will use their market power to line their pockets by discriminating against competitors in favor of their own content and service offerings.

Chris had all those expectations in high school, so I think he's been through that more than some players have. It will be up a notch here, but he appears to be the kind of guy to uphold those expectations.

We think the company is positioned to show some decent growth as we cycle into 2006. The 2006 figure is pure Comcast growth. We believe the cable platform is scalable and cost efficient. We feel that it's incremental for cable companies to get into the phone business, and we don't think it works the same way with the telephone companies.

We continue to look, but the problem is the market price. There are companies interested in selling, but they have such high expectations that when you run the numbers, you can't match the market price in many cases. It doesn't make any economic sense to me.

What it means is you've got two players, two big market players ? cable and telephone companies ? controlling right now the primary two types of broadband service into the home.

The market has very high expectations. The unrelenting search for profits is driving companies in an era when they can't raise prices and some of their potential for expansion overseas is being crimped,
