 It's hard to advance (in broadband penetration) when there are only two players (the Bells with DSL and the cable industry with cable modem service). We need a third option.

 The cable division came in with 13 percent cash-flow growth, which is basically the strongest we're going to see out of the whole cable industry this quarter, ... They're showing some real power.

 It's a little premature for a downgrade like this when the industry is about to report earnings that are better than anyone expected. We're pretty neutral on the industry but selectively bullish on certain stocks. If anything, the sell-off has created even more opportunities.
