 Instead of setting one person, I can set anyone and know the ball will get in the court. I don't have that one power hitter, but I have a whole team.

 Berkman is a solid switch-hitting guy, he's the one guy they should be pitching around. Berkman is a different hitter in Houston than on the road. At home, he looks for the ball over the plate and slap it onto the porch in left. On the roach he tries to be a pull hitter. Kornerko is solid power hitter and a real good breaking ball hitter. They are the two guys who can beat you.

 His bat has a ways to go, but he's got a chance to be a real special defender. Bat speed is hard to teach, and he has to realize what type of hitter he is. He's got to learn to be a line-drive hitter and not a power hitter. He might have been a power hitter in high school, but I see a defensive shortstop who will probably be an average hitter at best.

 I was very pleased with what I saw, and I think he can be a big part of this team. First, we are going to go about trying to develop a .300 hitter. And if the home runs follow, that would be great. You can hit for power without having the ball go over the fence. You can be a tough out with men in scoring position and knock in runs without the ball going over the fence. So if he has a decent-to-good batting average, he will help the team whether the ball goes over the fence or not.

 Hopefully, I want to be a guy who's a good hitter who will have power. I don't want necessarily to be a power hitter. I want to be a good hitter first. ... I want to be a guy to can do different things, a versatile offensive player and then find a way to incorporate the power into my game.

 We're not a team that breaks you down off the dribble. We have to do it in other ways, on the full-court break or with our power game inside. (Wednesday), South Florida took us out of what we should have run. We stopped setting screens, stopped doing some of the things we're capable of doing.

 She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. The thing about Joey is that he sprays the ball. He's not just a power hitter that pulls the ball.

 The thing about volleyball is if you don't have others on the court, you can't win. We don't have the same offensive power we have had, but we have equal -- if not better -- defense and ball control. You can't throw a game like volleyball on the shoulders of one person.

 The leadership they bring is so important. Michelle is a good hitter, and she has a little bit of power. Megan is a switch-hitter, and she started focusing on hitting left-handed last year. She can bunt, slap and hit for power. She has speed, and that's why she's on the left side.

 Americans revere both the Constitution and an independent Court that applies the document's provisions. The Court has done many excellent things in our history, and few people are willing to see its power broken. The difficulty with all proposals to respond to the Court when it behaves unconstitutionally is that they would create a power to destroy the Court's essential work as well.

 I remember one game we played and the team was pressing us and I had him bringing the ball up the court. A fellow coach, a friend of mine called me and said, 'Either you're a genius or you're crazy. How do you have a 6-10 freshman bringing the ball up the court? Don't you realize that every NBA team will see that?

 They're big and they push the ball up the court. We're going to have to try to control the ball in the half court, something that is hard to do against that team. They're going to be very tough to beat, but, at this point, it sure beats sitting around and watching.

 I let Guerrero get his arms extended, and while that's usually a mistake to any power hitter, it isn't necessarily so to him. He has no strike zone. He'll hit the ball below the zone, the ball away, and he'll cheat inside and put good wood on it. So you choose your poison.
