 The detectives are working the case very hard. They've been canvassing the neighborhood, talking to associates of the family and trying to find any possible leads.

 Our detectives are interviewing people, and names have come up during those interviews which force us to locate the subjects and talk to them about the case. We've talked to over 20 people, about the mid-20s, and we are still following leads. Some leads have been dead ends, others are promising. The investigation is on-going.

 We're working extremely hard on this case, working a lot of leads. We are concerned for the safety of the victim.

 For him to make that comment is probably not thoughtful, right now. We're still looking into the possibility, following all the leads, interviewing the witnesses, doing the things detectives do to try to break a case.

 The only thing we are going to say is that we are actively investigating this case. We have seven detectives working full-time on this case.

 We have all been interviewing witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood.

 What is different about this case and very sad is that a mother was candidly talking to detectives about allowing her 16-year-old to pick up drugs from her supplier.

 I had exhausted the leads that came my way as much as I could. I would make flyers on a weekly basis, and the family had also been making their own efforts. The family came to me after a family meeting and asked if we would consider bringing a psychic into the case.

 It's hard on us every time. But we know we've got to go through it. We've got to find her. We've got to get this case going. It's really hard on our family, but we've got to go through it, that's all there is to it.

 The case is still open, and it's basically a cold case that we continue to entertain any leads or avenues anybody comes up with. The family is at their wits end. There's been no closure for them. We're just waiting for that magic piece of evidence to help us out.

 It doesn't have all that now, but if you can bring hard-working people with the right values into the neighborhood, they will demand and help create good services and a safe environment. I think it will become a wonderful neighborhood for children again.
